What a complete joke. Neil Craig is ruining Taylor Walker. With his natural talent (and injury free), he has the potential to kick 1000+ goals in his carreer and be our greatest goalkicker for decades to come. But no, Neil Craig has to play him in every position BUT full forward, ruin his confidence, then drop him.

If I were the Gold Coast or GWS I'd be sending recruitment staff to his place this afternoon with a contract in hand ready for him to sign.

As for the game itself, the way Adelaide have been playing this year, you cannot seriously tip them to win. While the Western Bulldogs' form has been erratic, at home, you'd expect them to win and win easily. For the first time ever, I'm tipping against the Crows!

Mate, Im a huge Walker fan, but I don't think anyone could say he's been pulling his weight enough to command a spot in the Crows lineup (not denying there's probably a dozen others in the same boat).

I have serious fears for Walks career, hope Im wrong, but I just get the feeling that his lack of height, tank, pace, size, natural athleticism in a game growing in speed yearly may well mean we don't all see from him what we probably originally had thought we would.

Also, I think if the Crows were in this position with another loss or two on the board, then I reckon we would have seen one of the older players sacrificed, but whilst there's a pulse (no matter how slight) they're opting for what they believe is their best lineup .. I think that puts Tippett, Porplyzia, Burton and Knights ahead of him unfortunately

I think it's far to early to be calling an end to his career just yet. He's just a kid still and only in his 3rd year on the list. He's got plenty of footy left in him yet. He's just not mentally strong enough to turn a form slump around at this stage, but that will come.

To say that Craig is crushing his confidence is a bit harsh too without knowing the inner workings of the club. I'm sure he's had plenty of air time with all of the relevant coaches and knows what he's got to go back and work on. This is professional footy we're talking about, not just the "sorry mate, you're in the 2's this week" that you'd get on a Thursday night down at your local club.

Not doing that at all mate, just expressing that I do hold fears that it could pan it differently to how most of us had expected ... Naturally I hope not, but I do have my doubts.

I've really got mixed feelings on the Walker dropping.

One of the one hand, other than R1 he's been pretty pathetic it must be said. But you can't ignore R1, because that's when he was actually played at FF, his natural position. Since then he's played as a HFF and wingman which is totally ridiculous as he doesn't have the pace to be a wingman or the natural constant leading of a HFF.

If he was dropped because he wasn't performing at FF then fair enough, but he didn't really get that chance. Scapegoat.

I'd drop Edwards, Doughty and Douglas before Walker.

Doughty is the one of those 3 that should go. Has been terrible. Edwards has some browny points up his sleeve, IMO, and is at least finding the footy. Douglas is trying, but i think its a lost cause.

Cant see us winning this week, but i think we may give the Bulldogs an almighty scare. First time this year we dont go in as favourites.

I reckon it might have a bit to do with the general leg speed of the team as well though. Walker is not the quickest bloke around and at Etihad against a quick team in the Bulldogs it wouldn't surprise me if the selection committee opted for Henderson to add an option with a bit more pace off the bench.

I was going to put a 5'er on the Crows at $7.50, but then I saw Mackay out. I know he's just one guy, but a really important player, gives us plenty of run.

I still think we're a silly chance, but now with Mackay out and Walker, who will give us run/kick goals. Dogs by 5 goals.

Edwards shouldn't have any brownie points, at 33 you lose the, especially from 4 rather ordinary games. Douglas is just an average player who only looks good when the side is up and running, and Doughty's month has been absolutely horrendous.

Therein lies his problem IMO. The likes of Lake, Scarlett and co are much taller and stronger and faster than Walker. I dont think he is big enough to play a key forward role and not fast enough to be the elusive goal sneak.

McLeod has been surviving on browny points for the last 3 years - i think Edwards is entitled to be cut some slack. Agree he has to lift, as he is one of the blokes who can win their own footy. If he isnt doing that, we are on the back-foot from the start.

I agree completely Booney. Walker will not be on Adelaide's list by 2012 - thats my prediction. He has talent, but not in the right areas.

Walker is capable of playing FF but he relies on the delivery from midfield. This was shown when he kicked 5 in the first half v Hawthorn last year. The delivery was on the chest or out infront and if you give him 6 shots at goal a game he will have a min of 4-5 goals!

He's handy having a set shot that's for sure. He was the only bloke all game last week that looked like he would kick the goal as soon as went back to size up the sticks. Unfortunately he only had the 1 shot though, that's the problem.

And Hawthorn didnt have a backline that day.

I dont hate Walker - i actually think he is great to watch, on the rare occasions he is up and going. I just dont think he will make it as a consistent AFL player.

Yeah exactly, being a succeful forward is about getting the job done when you get the chance! if it comes into you area half reasonably and you dont do anything with it then maybe you should dominate SANFL! i love watching him play and would like nothing more than seeing him kick 50+ plus a year for the crows but atm he is lacking that spark and flare he needs

You can't kick goals from the bench or the half back line.
Kicked a goal just before 3/4 time last week and then was on the bench for the start of the last 1/4.
