Don't flatter yourself. It's just your club is the only one who sacked their CEO 2 days before the start of the season.

TSG- you're not allowed to tell Glenelg supporters there club isn't as fantastic as they like to believe...

Barro posted only on SL.org - not here - and I think this should be respected, as per his wishes.

Wedgie it would be appreciated if you would replace your quote of Barro's post with a link to the actual post on SL.org. Cheers.

"As per his wishes.....". If he didn't want to have his own quotes reproduced elsewhere he shouldn't have made them in the first place. Seriously, you Bay blokes are so touchy it is not funny.

How far do we go with your logic (or lack of it) Pseudo..... Can we quote anything written from any other source or do we specifically have to get their approval? If it is written, it can be reproduced - SIMPLE. Get over yourselves.

The only thing surprising about this Barratt fiasco, is that he didn't resign... or was he given an "ultimatum", as per Brett Backwell??

As a matter of respect for the author, I would generally seek permission from him/her when copying his/her articles across fora. It may not be necessary, but it is courteous. Since you apparently have neither respect nor courtesy then I guess it ain't an issue for you.

I am not going to preach to you about the legalities of copy-and-pasting articles from copyrighted sources (eg AdelaideNow) rather than posting a link to said info. Presumably the moderators here have their own policy regarding this. Court their wrath at your leisure.

Lastly, if you had simply visited Snoutslouts.org, clicked on the "register" link and filled in a few details, then we would not be having this conversation right now. The information is not hidden from you; it merely takes a small amount of work on your behalf to be seen. Frankly if you find the act of registration too complex for your mental faculties, and would rather obtain the information you desire by begging and whingeing for somebody else to do the hard work, then SL.org is healthier without your participation.

I assume rightly or wrongly that he was employed on a salary greater than 105K........................if he was then he has no entitlement to a unfair dismissal claim.

Maybe not in the Industrial Court but you can make a civil claim for breach of contract in the District Court.

Interesting ... wycbloods is correct, under little Johnny's IR laws you can't make a claim for unfair dismissal is your salary (including super) is over $100K indexed, which would be around $107K now.

Squawk is correct that in that it can be pursued as a breach of contract, but to be honest (and I've been there personally) it's not easy to prove and get a judgement in your favour and you need $$$.

Which is why if you make an application you have the chance to get a negotiated "out-of-court" settlement. However, with only 12 months of service if he got more than 6-8 weeks he'd be lucky I reckon. IIRC he wasn't on a contract, he was was employed ongoing? Presumably a small settlement covering notice (say 4 weeks) plus accrued annual leave was paid out. So depending on the circumstances, unless the decision was outrageous, I cant see him making much hay.

Unless they have given him nothing i would be surprised if he would be getting any more than 6 weeks + notice of 4 weeks in a best case scenario so unless there was a contract broken i can't see why he is pursuing it.

Agreed. The only other benefit he can get is that a "confidential settlement" implies that there was some recognition that things/outcomes could have been different.
