Imps lost by 2 points. Pretty good efforet with no Kenny Brothers and no Honor. A lot of B Graders played and there were a lot of people who were playing their first game for the year. Have lost the three games by a collective total of 14 points not a bad effort. Should go alright against the Valley in the final this Friday night with these players back.

well, all the recent talk about Imperials is quite true. They have an advantage in where they are situated (as do ramblers) and their ability to generate money before other clubs is quite obvious.
The comparison with Jervois over locals in their teams sees Jervois way in front in their Premiership years. Jarvis, Hill, Crouch, Burkett x 2, Baxter, Mason, Gazzola, Braun, Jackson, Heading x 2, Richards, Jaensch. Imperials don't seem to promote many of their "home grown" juniors, they get juniors from other clubs, even Wingard and O'brien, are a bit dicey, they started at Mypolonga.
It is a club decision at Imps, and they will live or die by those decisions, if they keep their real locals, that is terrific, but if they lose them, well it is something they will have to live with.

Spot on post mate, except you forgot 1 thing!!! Imps get an influx of 20-25 kids every year, purely because of where they are situated, & therefor will never die by these decisions.

Don't promote home grown juniors - lets see in the GF side there was Hodge, Eyre, Quast, Lewis Burns, Edwards, Kowald, Wingard and O'Brien

Other locals to play in the A Grade during the year - Lienert, Hines x 2, Newell, Lipp, Samblich, Hollit, Williams, Leech, McLaren, Mobbs, Wise, Fischer, Prosser, Gogel, Wingard.

Plenty of home grown talent there mate!

Mate! what you have just said is not something to brag about, 8 out of 21 players, thats 1 in 3 that are local! also, none of them are superstars who can win a game like a girdham or wait.

Plus half of the above players that you believe played A grade didnt!! E.G Samblich and Lipp... sounds like you dont no much at all mate

1 in 3 played colts football drew, there were more "locals" as discussed earlier.
2 out of 16 is 1/8th not half , dont know where you learnt maths.
If you want to be fair lets have a breakdown of every other club.
Didnt realize there was so much hate out there for Imps,
just because of their location ? surely not. What about Ramblers.?
Guess you guys will be happy when the two town clubs are playing in a different association, as you can guarantee big changes to country footy once the Community football board start exerting their power, whether you like it or not.

Drew,
have resisted the temptation since you started posting to point out your spelling and grammar mistakes, though still a possibility some are just mistakes to get a chuckle but when having a dip and making a statement "you don't no much" surely your typing should be spot on. Your points would be better made if we didn't have to read your posts several times to work them out
Watcher,
don't worry, Imps and Ramblers will not change leagues unless their committees decide there is greener grass elsewhere and I cannot see that happening.
(Any spelling mistakes on this post are intentional only to get my point acrossss)

My point is the clubs may not have any choice in some decisions being made around boardroom tables.

I started a thread a while ago about the "Super League", & it seems the CFB may have it on their agenda

Mate you have a look at Jervois Premiership photo in 2004 they are no different:
Crouch, Heading x 2, Burkett, Jackson, Hill, Jarvis, Baxter. Which of these are their so called superstars, no Mahoney or Woodhouse here.

So you can go on and on about it all you want but really. You look at the rest of the side and you would struggle to get anyone else who even lived in Murray Bridge.

Jarvis & Baxter are/were guns. Watching Jarvis over the past 2 seasons his body wouldnt allow him to do what he was capable of doing week in week out when he was 25 or 26. However i saw him play a couple of games in the last 2 seasons where somebody needed to stand up & guess who it was....

Scott Baxter= best ruckmen the RMFL has seen in decades. Jarvis, Hill, Baxter in Jervois top 8 players during premierships.

Scott Baxter = Very Good
Brett Lienert = Best

Baxter, Hill & Jarvis were massive local contributors during those premiership years.
