Following on from Bayman's post about this not just being about the NT thing (ie, relating back to events last year) I immediately wondered why it was Rowey (midfield coach) doing the begging and not any other club official?
For the record, Rowe didn't say that he was the only one who tried to convince him to stay. I just thought it strange as soon as Rowe said it. There might be nothing in it and Rowe was the last in line to have a crack at it. Maybe Rowey and Backwell were close and so he was delegated the task (would make sense as Backwell plays midfield).
One thing I am certain about is that Rowe and the Mouse are not close. I get the feeling Rowe may been prone to the occasional exaggeration...

It was embarrassing hearing him say that he was on the phone convincing him to stay when the messenger had already released the story with quotes from Mouse saying he'd been terminated the previous day. It was also sad to hear him tell us Mouse was "absolutely training the house down" one minute and then injured the next.
As he told us that the club had told him ... "he could have handled this situation and himself far far better".
