Great post.
If the boot was on the other foot and it was Norwood about to go under, I'd be gutted. I've always hated Norwood, but that's because of the great constests over the years.
The SANFL with Port will surely feel a little empty, regardelss of who you follow.

I heard that it may be Sturt and House Brothers, allegedly they advised that if Sturt voted against the proposal they'd pull their money.
Good on Sturt for standing up to those sort of bully boy tactics if correct.

Which ones DID'NT involve Port Magpies ? Not many I bet.
We all love to beat Port and personally nothing beats the feeling of knocking off Port in a GF or at Alberton or winning a typical tough fight under lights at the Parade.
Do you really want to lose that ?

it's garbage for starters. Port will rapidly evaporate any sympathy if they play these sabotage tactics. The stance of the clubs is being vindicated.

As far as has been reported all the clubs except PAMFC had huge turn arounds in their operting incomes and profit / loss situation come the end of season 2009 - even West who had a horrible big loss in 2008 had made a very big turn around and consolidation in 2009 and look well on track to do well in the future.
Thats all well and good, but it still points to the clubs having to derive most of their revenue from non-football related areas. Ie - most of the clubs finances these day are in the main not directly related SANFL-match income.
And.......whats the point, if 75 people turn up to a SANFL match but the clubs can still survive through other means, then whats the problem?

That the clubs cant survive without other means.
The salary caps and expenses being racked up by clubs are artificial and not self sustaining.

Do you really want to lose that? If Port go who is next? Make no mistake if they go others will
follow. Stop the rot here and now before the SANFL is gone.
We have to fight tooth and nail too keep these bastards in the comp.
I do not know enough details on the merger to comment but there has to be a way to keep
Port viable and think the other 8 clubs should help in any way possible.

Er, not really pertinent to a Centrals or Eagles fan I'm afraid.
True, neither has beaten us when it truly counts.

Good on them indeed.
And at the end of the day, good luck to them finding a new major sponsor.
If it's true then it's pretty childish and immature from House Brothers, much like your post.
Perhaps House Bros saw the value of their sponsorship investment diminishing without Port in the comp.

I doubt very much that the gesture will be reciprocated now the shoe is on the other foot.

Shame on the SANFL

If there is a rally we can give it as much coverage on here as possible, I'd be keen to join in with my Rooster scarf like my mate Goatherder did with his Magpies scarf for our rally.
I won't be carrying my son on my shoulders for this one though!
Port have got to keep the attention on themselves to help get out of this mess.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what sort of receoption he'd receive from some of the narrow minded PAMFC fans given North's involvement in this saga.
