The last Advertiser poll had Labor up 57-43 in December.

Mind you personally Id take stuff all away from a poll of only 539 voters especially when the only guideline given is that it was taken " statewide".

There's no doubting Labor are dropping back but if it's enough well only know on March 20 as pollscan be very misleading.

I agree its going to be closer than I thought it was 6 months ago. There is a mood for change. A close election result but a Labor win may well see Rann move on.

This election should have been a walk in the park for them. Redmond has presented herself very well so far and is winning appeal.

The only rider on this is that I feel the Labor party re-election machine hasn't really kicked into gear and a solid election campaign may change things back in their favour. The Libs really don't present a good alternative government yet (maybe in 4 years time) so a lot of the sentiment out there now is anti-Rann rather than pro-Liberal.

That's how I see things anyway.

I think there is something in the air out there for change. The people of SA are waking up to Rann and co. and the way they operate. I personally dont see a Liberal win, but who knows....politics is a strange game.

If Rann is elected, he wont be in the job for more than 12 months. I think good old Kev Foley will get in (God help us all!!!) and be the new leader.

Labour have had to many stuff ups coming into the election and the Atkinson debacle has only make it harder for Labour.

Apparently there is a 5% margin for error in an opinion poll of this size meaning the ALPs two party preferred could be as high as 54.6 or as low as 49.4. Probably enough to be re-elected in the lower scenario. Still about 6 weeks to go, if ALP support continues to trend down it will be very interesting on March 20.
