That is a good attendance for you mob Cuzzy.
Like you I can't wait till the real stuff starts. When do your cricketers practise?
We seem to train MWF for most of pre season because the cricketers practise on Thursday....or did you combine with the cricketers last night to get the numbers :D

Yeah was suprising to see that many, hasnt been that many for years. Our cricketers arnt training yet, they are still cricket training so more to come from there. They should hopefully join in within a month or so.

Good pick up for the Creek$! Any other notable pickups at Hawk Park?

Interesting report Cuzzy. If he had indeed signed at the Bays and then the Creek$ came along and offered bigger cash you cant compete no. They have a setup that allows them to pretty well outbid any other club in the comp. A credit to the Creek$ to have the cash there to spend, something that all other clubs should aspire to have.

About 6-7 weeks before trials start and plenty of work to be done between now and then. Any idea when clearances are going to hit the web and where can we view them?

Has Gordy found a new Journo for the budget? That bloke last season was rubbish.

The great Sir Barry Pilmore was fine tuning his coaching skills on the weekend at the National Coaching Conference, didn't see any other coaches from the GSFL there though. The great get greater and the average, stay average.

Stick to coaching your women's footy Damian...Look at the scheduling of the conference Damo?

On a weekend in the middle of summer
The weekend after the long weekend
Local clubs doing pre-season / summer camps
Summer sports coming to a close
1st weekend after kids have gone back to school

If it was in a more suitable time slot I am sure that more would have attended.

On another note, the "new" signing at the Creek looks good on you tube but has he played any senior footy. Heard a silly figure of $850 per game....surely not?

Its never going to suit everyone LF. When would have been more suitable?

Cricket goes right up until late March (trials have already begun), then its Easter. Footy is upon us til late september (hopefully), then the long weekend in october, then cricket fires up again.

Interesting to hear some of the figures being thrown around by country clubs, some a lot further from town than others. Good luck to these players if they can get it, lets hope they earn their ca$h and win club B&Fs, Mail Medals, Premierships etc!

Thats bloody good of the "great man". Sir Barry must be a 9-5 man, so its nice that he can have a weekend off and go and fine tune his skills. Or has is his schedule light on now that "That 70's Show" is no longer in production?

Sir Baz and another 500 coaches plus 40 high profile AFL/SANFL/National/International coaches from around Australia managed to attend.

On a weekend in the middle of summer - Are they better doing it on a weekend in winter??
The weekend after the long weekend - All should be refreshed
Local clubs doing pre-season / summer camps - Conference dates are out well before pre-season starts, a good coach wouldn't schedule the camp that weekend if he has an interest in attending
Summer sports coming to a close - Of the 10 GSFL coaches, how many are committed to summer sport?
1st weekend after kids have gone back to school - Very minor affect

I am sure that most clubs would have funded the conference for all their club coaches (J/C, S/C, Res & A-Grade).

Having sat next to Mr Pilmore through a lecture, i can tell you he was working his writing hand off taking notes as Paul Haines (Geelong Fitness Coach) took us through 'Developing a Pre-season training'. If Baz, and AFL coaches can sit in on the lectures, learn and take plenty away from the conference, i'm sure many GSFL coaches would too.

BJ, i am positive you will be doing a bit of wrestling this pre-season!

I'm sure Barry Pilmore was only at the coaching conference to make it look like he is trying to improve his coaching skills, when we all know that anyone of our grandmothers could probably coach Willunga to a Grand Final.

Ha ha, so that's where that's come from. Training last night resembled WWE Summer Slam. The bout between "Pistons" Portlock and Ben "The Axe" Baxter was a highlight.

Haha love it!! He was so excited to put it into practice!!
