Sorry, did not read team properly. Don't think it would have mattered whether skinny had seen us or not. Only 3 players IMO worthy. Bharat has played only one game due to injury, Ross would have been lucky & Spehr a very outside chance if 9 keepers were injured ;)

Thanks Bloods.

Couple of interesting selections which will get peole talking. Gotta think this team will give the other associations a fair old scare / touch up.

Shouldn't matter who Skinny has or hasn't seen. Only play sides once a season - that's not much to go on.

Not a bad side anyway but McKinley in for Pritchard IMO. If Pritchard was making runs then fine, but he's not. Cheek lucky but he's not going too bad this season.

Atleast plenty of all rounders to choose from there. Calderbank will make a fine No. 11.

LOL so what two players are going to be behind him?
I believe 12 will be named and one wont bat. I dare say that will be Calderbank.

Luders will not play aswell. Working on that Sunday and unable to get out of it!

Bowlers are Rowe, Hopkins, Sampson, Pritchard, Calderbank, Cheek (?) im guessing and McRae.

The lucky selection for mine is Cheek. Has not played all games this year yet due to his work committments and even played some B grade IIRC. Quality player but IMO not in best eleven at this stage!

Seen as he picks the side i say it has a fair bit to do with it.

By the way, does anyone else think the picture of the guy with the dog in page 2 of the aftershave thread under 'General Discussion' is Russell King?

Also, Skinny has spoken to opposing captains such as Basso on who they have seen perform well this year and who they would consider for the side!!

He talks about the team to a fair few people from other clubs.

Why no O'Malley by the way? Leading wicket taker from last year and up there again!

I was not considering a 12 man team, in that case yes, Calderbank will make a fine no 12 ;)

O'Malley needs 20 overs to wear the batsmen down, he won't get that at association level with those other bowlers. If you take into account strike rates it's probably a fair call.

Fair point about O'Malley and as you said he won't get that many overs in the association game as they are limited over games.

Going purely by current form, my 2 would be Pritchard and Cheek. Previously? Sure - no problems, both are very good cricketers.

Also agree there McKinley is in form taking 9 in his last 2. Pritchard didnt bowl well against us early bowled alot down leg and picked up 4 late cheaply and hasnt hit alot of runs again seems like a reputation pick when theres a bloke obviously in form.

There are 2 reasons why i can think McKinley is not in the side.

1 - Unavailable (not sure if this is true)
2 - When he has played in the seniors, he has a pretty poor record

However i do agree. Still think O'Malley should be in before both of them

if its a one day game shouldnt a bloke with a rpo of under two (O Malley) be a pretty good show?? hes taken 20 wickets this year and in a one day game ya have to have a mix of bowlers, some who can keep it tight while some who can take wickets. to not pick a guy who has taken that many wickets with such a low rpo is crazy, i dont know enough about the rest of the players but i think o malley should feel very hard done by

O'Malley has a better strike rate than Rowe, Pritchard, Sampson, McCrae and Curyer.

Surely you pick a side on current form and not previous ASCA form.

When and where is this game?
