Strangely enough it was in a losing side. Morphies won 144 to 117.

I reckon Pencil Jones was the last person to beat that, he took 10for 60 after having 0/40 at one stage against Reynella.
Pretty sure he made 91 the following week too.
I'd say it was around 93/94.

That grumpy old Mule from the wineflies took 9/17 against Morphies around 99/00 ish.
Pencil was a gun and I reckon Smithy took a few A Grade bags as well.

Would be 25 years ago and I believe it was against Mclaren?
It is on the wall at Shark Park.

Would have been a pretty mean bowler around that time I reckon. Pass on my congratulations to him.

As for Pencil great all round sportsmen and top bloke, what does he do these days? Any footy or sport at all??
[Pencil is in the Air force and has recently had a couple of tours to AfganistanI would think he would be pretty safe as he sits in front of a radar screen in a bunker and as I asked on his days off do you go window shopping.NO
There is talk of him coming out when permitted to get involved in footy this year and also wants a run with a few older lads in the C grade.

Great man the old Pencil...
Quite frankly a freak in his day..
Could of and should of achieved a lot more in both Footy and Cricket at higher levels, but like many, loved his mates..
How could you not love being around Shoe Boy and Co...
Give him my best when you next see him SB....
