You are a dead set wanker.
Non of the 8 local clubs voted for the Power & Magpies merge from day 1 of the Powers entry.
Why would things change now?
You've got your wish you dead set f..k w.t, now watch the competition die.

I'm not sure it is more important, but more people care about Port, their relationship with the SANFL, and natural justice, one way or the other, than they do about the other issues..CENTURION wrote:but it's more important, so it should have more discussion.

Can you imagine, for instance, if Dutschke & O'Hara were picked up by the power but had to play in the SANFL for The Maggies against their own club? There would be a lot of strange injuries to players if they were dropped from the AFL...they simply wouldn't want to play against their own club. There has to be a better way. Footy is a business these days & if a company is in strife financially, other companies don't come along & continually prop it up, unfortunately the company must go into receivership, cruel maybe but probably the only option
Under the model being considered no recruits from SANFL clubs would have to move, only interstaters (mostly juniors) would join the Magpies. And anyone who thinks Port Adelaide is going to dominate the competition under that scenario is seriously misguided.

If that is the answer, who do you think they should team up with?

I have the utmost respect for the Magpies they have been a fantastic club in our great competition. You don't win 30 + premierships without being a strong club. I think the major issue here is the Power - it was a dead set mistake allowing them to take the 2nd SA license in the AFL. Port Adelaide should only blame themselves for what they have become.

Correct - they should have had the first one !!!!!
At least Port got off their collective arses and did something. If they hadn't, the SANFL still wouldn't have a side in the AFL.

Just love these insightful critiques. "Port Adelaide shouldn't have got the 2nd license. I have ABSOLUTELY no idea who it should have been given to, but not Port Adelaide, because no matter what the circumstances any other club would have done it better." WHAT UTTER CRAP!!
