Fev fined

Talk on the national game

Sorry, wouldn't dare normally comment on a Carlton player without getting your permission.
However, as Fev has created himself a media persona and put himself in the public spotlight...I'm sure I'm entitled to have an opinion on that persona (remember that Fev is part of the media you derided in your post Jabber). Fev creates his own strife - it's not the media who makes him p*ss in public, or start fights in Irish pubs when he's representing our country.
As I said above, if he'd been there just as Joe Footballer, having an end of season p*ss up, I'd have had no problem with his actions on this occasion. It's all fun and games.
He was there, however, as a paid employee of Channel Nine and if I turned up at my local footy league's presentation night got pi*sed and then made a d*ck of myself when I was supposed to be doing my job, then I'm pretty sure I'd be looking for a new job.

Yeah thats all true, but perhaps hes building the fwit persona to ensure a nice media deal as the all round fwit when he stops playing. Worth a thought.

Crap. He was there first and foremost as a representative of the Carlton football Club. They've dealt with the issue. Bring on Season 2010.

Correct, they do and we as the viewing public demand it. Fev is part of the media circus and is invloved with the biggest sensationalist show in modern TV, The "Footy" Show.

Now, his only defence to all of this is stupidity. Is he really stupid enough to think none of his antics will be "sensationialised" or publicised?

I think he is.

Get off his back DW, he 'aint working with a full deck. ;)

He can't be so bad. Mrs Fev is still hanging around popping out little Fev's so the money must be worth it to put up with all the other goings on. In the end all he is doing is making himself look silly.... er....

I didn't say he wasn't there as a Carlton employee.
But when he's got a microphone in hand, with a camera towing behind, I don't think he's working for the Blues.

Absolute rubbish- Carlton's word is the same as it ever was- untrustworthy.

Remember this: http://sportal.com.au/afl-news-display/last-chance-for-fevola-45101

I love the quote "If there are any more alcohol-related incidents, that will result him being terminated by the Carlton Football Club."

My other favourite is "If it happens again we won't even have a press conference, he is finished and we move on."

So maybe he has been moved on? I doubt it.

Why should Carlton or the AFL be involved?
I guess the Brownlow is an officially constituted meeting of the AFL but didn't the fracas occur at the after party?

He got pissed, tipped a waiter very well and hurt no-one. What exactly is the problem?

Having a personality seems to be the problem nowadays. Too sanitised the public has become IMHO.

That's rubbish.

Peter Everett, Shane Crawford, and Glen Manton (as examples) all got by without being DHs all the time. Pretty sure they had personalities.
It's a fallacy that people are automated and too sanitised.

Hawthorn trading period T Shirt.

They need a third key forward as having two didn't get the job done this year.

Someone needs to take over from Sam Newman when he cant talk anymore due to all the plastic in his face.
Seriously though, he's one of those people who wants to play the fool all the time and has no understanding of when he's going to far. Don't all of us have a mate like this? I know I do.
