So where to now for Sambo, obviosuly too late for the Eagles and Norwood job and no doubt the Port one as well, I really hope he doesn't drift out of SANFL football, too good a bloke to be lost to this league.

Wednesday 23 September, 2009
Following an extensive review process, the Board of the South Adelaide Football Club has decided not to renew the contract of current League Coach Clay Sampson.
The club's focus now turns to securing the most qualified coach to lead the Panthers back to finals football.
The Club is determined to get this decision right and is pleased to advise that two of the state's most experienced and well-credentialed football minds, John Reid and Ron Fuller, will head the committee charged with making this critical appointment.
For further enquires please make contact with:
Ben Kavenagh, SAFC CEO on 8186 8200

Whilst I’m the first to admit the W/L record under Sampson (4-29 by my calculations) is appalling, Clay has been on a hiding to nothing the past couple of years. Thrown in to the job when he was clearly not ready (the idea was for him to be taking over from Jack in 2010!), with a mediocre playing list and the usual unprofessionalism from the board doesn’t help.
Who in their right mind with any sort of reputation or experience would want to coach the club?
Time to go Kavanagh and co. 3 coaches (not including caretaker Cameron) in 3 seasons is beyond a joke. The way that certain situations were handled in recent times (Pyman, Cahill, Trevor Potts, treatment of younger reserves players etc) left a lot to be desired.
Now let’s sit back and wait for all the cheap shots from opposition supporters to roll in……yawn.
Rant over.

You just sit there and watch Kavenagh and the board stuff up time and time again. You never hold them accountable. At the AGM before last you just sat there while that goose of a president (I deliberately didn't use a capital P) refused to explain the then coaching fiasco. Speak up and make these people accountable. Kavenagh can put a good spin on anything. Kavenagh can write pretty papers (Strategic Plans and Corporate Governance Statements etc etc etc) but he doesn't deliver on anything. Last year's banner "Visionary - Can Do - United" were only words. Under that banner many south people left south. Under that banner there was bickering and in-fighting. Under that banner I saw Reserves team-mates abusing each other (with their coach apparently unaware that it was going on - seriously oblivious to it!) If you haven't got the right people at the top you will never be successful. If the members are prepared to put up with this cr@p then just sit there and do nothing. If you want things to change don't just believe all the bs that Kavenagh feeds you. Stand up. Make a difference.
