I'll be shot tomorrow at work because I convinced a couple of people to change their tip to Hawthorn given all of those outs for St Kilda

I was very impressed they still won so easily

Geelong, St Kilda and Collingwood are the 3 best sides. A grand final between any 2 of them should be a cracker
In between signatures .....

Spare a thought for Saintal its the first time his AFL/SANFL teams both lost on the same weekend ...

ES sensational
Crippled , virtually no interchange in the last qtr and still win
Oh dear what could have been if St Nick could kick better

Isint it ironic [good tune] how it was ES to stop SK equalling thier run of 20 earlier this century

Not sure if I subscribe to the "Loss they had to have" theory, but this loss will do St.Kilda no harm, and it will only help to highlight any problems that may have been camouflaged in victory. Saints are still the best team in the competition and I expect them to play in the GF, possibly against Collingwood. Another 1 point GF? :)

Yeah the irony wasn’t lost me either.

Credit must go the Bombers. Given that we kicked the opening 3 goals, it was a 10 goal turn around they instigated to be up by 7 goals.

Good one ! :-j quite witty actually Booney

There were some disappointed people after the loss
What about this guy
Betting with TABSportsbet
After SK kicked the first goal he had a bet of $30,000 at $1-05 on SK
SK after kicking the opening 3 goals enticed the punter to another bet of $20,000 at $1-02

He lost $50k
His 1st bet was to win $1500
His 2nd bet was to win $400

In trying to steal $1900 it cost him $50,000
Oh dear

I got to the pub at 3qtr time and put $10 on the Saints @ $5.

Not big money but I thought it was a good bet. Would have paid for dinner. :(

I think I will, in view of the fact that anything that has gone before has no bearing on what happens now. Anyone who thinks the Saints aren't in with a real show this year are in denial.

Just to save people having to read through the whole thread here is a summary of the most important and significants points:

I do.
Just watch them fail.
When the going gets tough, STK will suck it's thumb and hide under the bed.
Been doing it for 130+ years.
Nothing will change.

Mr66 wrote:
mal wrote:" Might as well REIGN until September."
Maybe Mr66 remembers the song[who sang it ??????????????????????????????]

OWEN THE SAINTS CUM MARCHIN' IN

...and then go stumbling out....

And don't remember the song either.
If it was about STK winning a flag, the I don't think it would have been played all that often.

LOL, I was just about to post the same thing.

The more they go undefeated, the bigger the fall in the finals.
