Yes things seem pretty bad,
Yes work needs to be done,
We've all been involved in clubs that have had some trouble in one way or another at some point.
There are also a lot of great people at South/The Panthers.
Have some respect for those trying to do the right thing/s.
Please..

They've never been "up there", that's the problem. They cant be like Richmond in the AFL and constantly rebuilding. They're rolling in cash and have a fantastic recruiting zone.
I'd love to see them finaly challenge, it'd be great for the comp, but it looks like it's never going to happen. Ever.

The 90's and the 30's. 8 flags across those two eras. The first was cut short by the League's move to electorate football. The second by the war and the subsequent move of the population away from the inner city and out to the suburbs. They have had to re-invent themselves for a third time with the move to Noarlunga. It will take time to set down roots, but the club can rise again. Perhaps even in your life time if the SANFL stops handing places like Morphett Vale and Happy Valley to other clubs.

There have been 2 informal discussions by the clubs in the very far past to examine possibilities re some sort of merge. At the time neither club was in any financial difficulty and the basis of the discussions revolved around future expansion possibilities re an AFL bid - so that tells you how long ago the discussions were.
Despite what many might think, the CDFC and NAFC have a very close off field relationship forged through the 2 CEO's. Helps that both club's financial directors are joint business partners so there would be no "smoke and mirrors" or secrets in reality. Centrals through Bill Cochrane were insturmental in assisitng North with the Gaming relocations in 2002 / 2003 prior to and post the issue with the set up of the old Sizzler Site and then the subs move away because of the Northern Tavern's Court Appeals.
