Well done to Mallala and Two Wells Sat. Both beating formidable teams, especiallly Two Wells considering Hummocks finals experience.

I predict and presume that Two Wells will go down by 5 goal saturday. Virgina will be unbeatable if all players fire on all cylinders. Further to their oncoming win on Saturday, in light of Mallala's injuries, i strongly believe Virginia will go on to win the flag also. Virginia are due.

I was at Balak on Saturday and couldn't believe that no call. Surely if a club's runner touches the ball during play, either intentionally or non-intentially, it is still a free kick.

An coming from the amateur league where the crowds aren't huge, if that crowd at Balak was a small one, I'd hate to try to move around when there's a decent one. Although $3 for snag is a bit rich.

I dont think that decision had much of an influence on the game did it, there we plenty of others that we worse than that one.

Harden up mate, if 3 bucks is too much to pay for a feed then maybe you should have been there Sunday collecting the empty cans around the place. Snags are there to raise $$$ for the club afterall.

Pag, these $3 snags might have had REAL MEAT in them rather than the $2 variety full of water, seasoning and flour.

Heard a rumour that Slattery is returning from Torrens valley to coach the bombers next year. Would be massive for the club if true!
One day original John Palmer will be found & the truth will be known.

Yeah the umpire got it wrong with the runner. Should have been a free kick. I think I saw the umpires co-ordinator trying to get on the field to let the ump know that it should have been a free. Lets just hope the umpire who gave the non-call doesn't get an A Grade game for the rest of the year. You just can't have anything other than the best 2 umpires doing the last 2 A Grade games for the season. Would hate for something like that to affect the result.

Fair point on entry prices, just wait til the GF when the league will be charging $10

As for beer and food its been that price all year and Virginia charge the same price so I'm not sure what the issue there is.

As for no BYO, you have to remember that each ground is a licenced premises. Nobody takes their own grog into a pub so footy grounds should be treated the same.

Totally agree - but which are the best 2? Umpires on Sunday semed to miss a lot for both sides but the little bloke was the better of the 2 (Jenner I reckon it was), one of the umpires on saturday just doesn't know the rules and hasn't known them the whole time he has been attempting to umpire. I bet it was him that missed the call on the runner and ball.

can someone answer this? in the reserves on sat, mallala fullback took to long to kick out so play on was called,he still kicked out while in the square and the ball rolled out of bounds so angus called throwin as he had called play on,he was over ruled by dougie who said it was out of bounds on the full as no player tounched it resulting in a two wells goal, what is the ruling when asked to play on?

a team mate still has to touch the ball from a kick in even if it is called play on.

anyway, heard a strong word yesterday that P Burgoyne maybe going to virginia for 2010.

If the fullback then kicks to himself prior to kicking the ball out of bounds then its a throw in. If the fullback is called to play on but still just kicks the ball in as per normal and then out of bounds its then a free paid.

As usual Jumbo you would win your bet!

2 best IMO would be Min & Jenner.

no body normal does, but as for bar fly's of HB central, quite the contrary.

I think also its unwritten law that if your half way through a stubby etc. you can bring it into the pub and finish it off. Might try this one with about 20 Johnny walkers in 2 weeks.

Yes I would expect those 2 to get the gig.

It concerns me greatly when umpires don't know the blood rule, don't know the basics such as runner interference, numbers in the square etc etc. They WILL have an affect on the outcome. To say an incorrect decision doesn't have an effect on the game is wrong, all decisions have an impact on the game, right or wrong. Some may not result in a score but it will impact on player's frustration and result in player confusion which will further impact on the way we play the game.

That makes perfect sense to me, so I've changed my mind. Jenner and Jumbo to do all remaining finals. Clearly the best two umpires. ;)
