Yeah but the next 2 weeks of AFL finals after this weekend are played at nights making the need for Sunday SANFL finals irrelevent on those weeks.
The only time there should be any consideration for a Sunday final is for the Prelim but even then it'd be better on a Friday night.
First 2 weeks of SANFL finals should be on Saturday arvos, the Prelim on Friday and the GF on a Saturday rightfully leaving us the Sunday to watch Bathurst!

not always, been plenty of Sat arvo finals in the AFL over weeks 2 & 3 recently, Roos/Port WCE/Adelaide are 2 examples

Why did they move the games (other than Glenelg v West) ? Why not leave them on Sunday ?

Bayman agrees (musn't have played footy himself, according to Dedja).

My points are:
- Regardless of whether the fixture should have been changed for R23 (on that point I agree, there's no valid reason to change), the fact that it should have and has no bearing on how Central or Glenelg approach this week's games.
This we must agree to disagree on. As previously posted, I believe if the result of other games are known resulting in another game having no real meaning, the dynamics of a game can change. This includes players been rested, interchanged, testing game plans to name a few variables. If roles were reversed and Central were guaranteed top spot and playing tomorrow, I believe the dynamics of the game would change. An example might be you may rest schelly towards the end of a game, due general soreness. I would have thought this was all obvious stuff in footy
- Central were expected to win today and they didn't. If they did then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Yes we would because then the Bays would know to retain top spot they [b]must [b win tomorrow. In any case it doesn't detract from the debate, because as mentioned previously I'm referring to every season, not just in this instance.
- I'm saying that once a player crosses the line, he will give his all regardless. If the coach rests players then this doesn't change the commitment of the players that are selected.
I never disagreed with this (in fact I agreed with you). Commitment isn't the question - experience and ability is
- North's situation is nothing like Glenelg's, so don't rope Bayman into the argument!![]()
It's a very pertinent point. It's what the whole discussion has been about. Bayman states North in his opinion may rest players as there's nothing really on the line for them. I presume he believes it's more advantageous for North to rest players than to play them, and risk injury. That's not to say as you have stated that the players that come in won't be giving 100% in an attempt to play next week.![]()

- I never said Glenelg were certainties to keep top spot, only that it would be no shock to Central if they ended up playing in the qualifying final.
Well, this we agree on
