LF and Damien you make good points , some umpires are right onto it and thier are others that are not . It is not easy to make a split second decision on weather to send a player off or report him , the player who has been hit often milks the free kick for all its worth and if you act too hastily you could penalise the offending player for something not as serious as first thought . I usually find that during a game if both umpires have a good control of it then the players act accordingly , but unfortunately i think their are people who are umpiring A grade and shouldnt be , not because they want to but because their isnt enough umpires to go round . If we get better people to umpire then it makes the situation better , if all clubs got one person who has retired to take it up then you wouldnt have to put up with these guys .
Yeah well said, have to agree with what is said here. I think that some of the best umpires that I have seen all year have come from guys who have been ex players. I know that Glazbrook, Robbo & Cratey who have been doing a few games this year have been awesome, they have the respect from the players & the game seems to flow alot better.
