Time to let it go i reckon, worry about your old M/Vale boys playin elsewhere and let the sharks try and move forward, not live in the past.

Rather than asking me these things why not ask Sticks and Kurtzy why they arent headin back to Shark Park.

so i take that as "no coment" bj.

What are you fishing for?

Here a lot of talk about dingy boys leaving in the past etc etc, but surely there was a reason for them all leaving all around that period 6,7 8 years ago?? who was in charge down there at that time? who knows?, but somethin wasn't right with a heap of players leaving and ultimately leading to their downfall over the years.
Leaving to go play with mates would have helped choose which club you would go to, but it doesnt explain them leaving the club altogether? you can make mates pretty easily in a footy team and wouldnt be an easy decision to make to leave a team? Just some thoughts anyway

kurtz portlock paterson, haywood boys, a skinner and a few others were all the same, maybe the club should have a look at the way it was run for this to happen

It all started with the loss in the 99 GF to Kangies. We had a good side full of young guys returning from South juniors, solid local players and some other new recruits and there was a great feeling around the club. Bronte Fisher was coach in 99, and in no disrespect to Bronte but i feel he struggled as a coach and this led to a few guys looking in other directions. It was clear that Bronte would not coach in 2000 and Mark Grandison took over. Grando also had a bit of trouble communicating with some of the guys and that led to a bit of an exodus from Dingy. If we had won the grandy this might not of happened, and the transition into Div 1 would have been much better.

Alot of the guys that left in the following years, in my opinion felt too much pressure to sep up to the seniors and all they wanted to do was play footy with their mates. Fair enough i guess, but at that time i thought it was piss poor.

Footy clubs need to be run like a business, and unfortunatly this has not been the case at Aldinga. I can't speak for this year, but i hear things are looking better.

But jeeh i spend some sleepless nights thinking about the quality that has been in Aldingas junior ranks and the lads that have a bit of dingy blood in them playing for the teams down the road.

Interesting to note that the decision was made at this week's GSFL meeting that the venues will remain the same regardless of if the A Grade is playing on their home ground.

interesting. a prelim at myponga?
any more news from the gsfl meeting to speak of limb?

Lets just hope its a better day than the 2003 prelim at mt compass. Oval was a mess that day didn't make for the high standard of footy most people expect from finals footy.

Willunga $1.80 Favourite CAN win the flag - Their record over last 4 - 5 years speaks for itself.

L.Creek $2.10 2nd Favourite and ONLY other contender. CAN win the flag. Have proven in recent weeks to be a genuine threat by comfortably accounting for Strath and Compass (both away). One hurdle will be to overcome the mental scars of their Grand Final defeat 2 years ago when went undefeated until the last day although they have enough players now that weren't part of that defeat for it to be a signifigant factor.

Mt Compass $11 Not good enough - CANT win the flag.

Strath $26 Not good enough - CANT win the flag.

Victor $34 Not good enough - CANT win the flag.

I thought it was a great venue for a final, it was close, exciting football decided by 1 kick with the good guys coming out on top ;)

BJ,

How much do you think losing that prelim as hot favourites has spurred the Demons in the last 5-6 years?

From the outside, it certainly seemed to focus you guys on the field, I don't think McLaren has gotten anywhere near beating Willunga since that day?

Brock, I'm pretty sure the good guys were on the wrong side of the ledger that day!

That prelim loss certainly galvanised the group Brock. The group as a whole came together, a lot of the on-field bickering that plagued the group disappeared after that, the great Todd Steele came back to the club and the recruitment of Craig Dobson who had moved to the area topped up the side nicely.

You also cant substitute playing time together, by the end of season 2004 the group (minus a couple) had played a solid 30-50 games together and you could see the difference in the way players reacted to situations.

Hey guys, I know this is a bit off topic but does anyone have any cheap lawn mowers or whipper snippers for sale? And does anyone want their lawns mowed? If you do or know someone that does, feel free to pm me...

I think you need to go to the "lawn mowing" forum. But I have a Scott Bonnar 17" reel mower sitting in the shed. The bed knife needs sharpening and it could do with a service, but apart from that its a great mower. The only lawn mower I know that can stripe up my lawn like the MCG.

Ambitious tipping my you damian, but killer will add a bit of spark.

Haha no i was just highlighting Goolwa/Port Elliot as it was their ins and outs.. Not to say that they're not a chance this weekend, the team is not what it was early on in the year with quite a few important players out with injury but the 21 that take the field will be playing with heart and passion.. Another upset like that of Strath @ Strath in round 2 would be very nice!!

Strath by 38 points over the Tigers in the wet after being down by less than a goal at half time. Yank left their intensity in the sheds at half time and Strath increased theirs. Kept Yank goalless and possibly scoreless for 3rd quarter and kick 3 or 4 themselves.
