Tea cosie competition

Postby Dogwatcher » Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:37 pm

The Tea Cosy capital of the world, Miles, (in Queensland, Australia) is again seeking the world’s best tea cosies, following the great success of the 2005 & 2006 World Tea Cosy Making Competition, which attracted entries from Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, U.S.A., South Africa, New Zealand, and France.

There will be 3 categories:

1. TRADITIONAL

2. OPEN

3. THEMED = PINK (all proceeds to be given to Breast Cancer/Research)

The winner of each category will receive A$200.00, with an extra A$300.00 to the overall winner.

The competition is an initiative of M.A.I.D., (Moving Arts Into Dogwood), with a partnership between the Miles Regional Arts Council and our Western Downs Shire Council. A selection of tea cosies is presently touring Queensland, per. courtesy of On Tour Exhibitions from the Queensland Arts Council.

Entry is FREE – all cosies remain the property of Miles Regional Arts Council: no tea cosies returned unless arrangements have been made with Ann. Tea Cosies will be sold, with the money given to charities at the discretion of the Miles Regional Arts Council. All tea cosies MUST be accompanied by an entry form, which you will find on our web. www.dogwoodcrossing.com If unable to access this, please draft your own entry form which must include NAME, ADDRESS , CATEGORY, plus a short story/history of the entry.

Tea cosy to be sent to Mrs Ann Gibbons, "Mirrabook", MILES 4415, Queensland, Australia by end of June 2010. Winners announced September 2010.
