The Tea Cosy capital of the world, Miles, (in Queensland, Australia) is again seeking the worlds best tea cosies, following the great success of the 2005 & 2006 World Tea Cosy Making Competition, which attracted entries from Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, U.S.A., South Africa, New Zealand, and France.
There will be 3 categories:
1. TRADITIONAL
2. OPEN
3. THEMED = PINK (all proceeds to be given to Breast Cancer/Research)
The winner of each category will receive A$200.00, with an extra A$300.00 to the overall winner.
The competition is an initiative of M.A.I.D., (Moving Arts Into Dogwood), with a partnership between the Miles Regional Arts Council and our Western Downs Shire Council. A selection of tea cosies is presently touring Queensland, per. courtesy of On Tour Exhibitions from the Queensland Arts Council.
Entry is FREE all cosies remain the property of Miles Regional Arts Council: no tea cosies returned unless arrangements have been made with Ann. Tea Cosies will be sold, with the money given to charities at the discretion of the Miles Regional Arts Council.
