to make it look like it doesnt bother you when you are getting spanked, is not a good sign..
I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Strewth didnt know that ... One of these days they might allow a change that benefits the bowlers??

Believe they are still allow to Mankad them providing the bowler is not yet into his delivery stride? See it all the time these days, esp in one day cricket, but rarely moving as early as Cook was.

Also, think they allow batsmen to do it because of the video replays where it was felt batsmen were disadvatantaged by being given out by the bare margins, especially in ODI's.

flying high- your obviously a top class park cricketer. havnt been able to mankad for a few years and that is the sole reason batsman leave their crease well b4 the ball is bowled. got nothing to do with replays genious!!! bet your a 20/20 fan and never been to a day of test cricket in your life?

Yes, I know they haven't been able to mankad once they got into their delivery stride for a few years. I thought that maybe they were able to before they got into their delivery stride, hence the question mark at the end of my sentence, oh literary genious

But I have heard commentators talking about the reason for the rule, and it was as I stated, mainly due to one-day and 20-20 cricket where the powers that be felt the batsmen was potentially disadvatnaged in close runout calls. Do I agree with it? Not really.

FWIW, I love test cricket, only get the chance to go one day each year. One-day cricket is interesting, 20-20 will only watch if there is nothing else on telly.

Yes, I have only been a country cricketer. How about yourself?

England does not deserve to escape with a draw. Their players, the media, they were all talking smack and have utterly failed to deliver. Would be criminal if we don't get close to a full day in to force the result here.

Surely there are only two results that can happen now. An Aussie victory or a draw. Need take early wickets if we want the victory

Ha Ha after allegedly hitting the ball at the Australians during the warm up which caused a minor stink - Clark and Johnson came over to confront him and Clark had to be dragged away - I'm tipping Pietersen got told exactly where the pavilion is by the Australians on his way off.....

I've been musing over this the past few days and I can see similarities between Australia in 89 and now.

Ponting - a captain who has been continuously questioned about his ability but is a stubborn fighter (Border).
Siddle - a big hearted Victorian fast bowler (Hughes).
Hilfenhaus - a swing bowler (Alderman).
Haddin - a wicketkeeper barely established in the side whose technique has been regularly questioned (Healy).
Hauritz - a spinner, given no regard by fans in Australia and not known in England (Hohns).
Waugh - whose spot in the middle order was questionable.

Just a thought.

I'm glad you explained what that was about AMB. Saw a bit of a stink on the coverage but it wasn't really explained.

Good analogy DW, yes their are some defiantely similarities between 1989 and 2009, a side going away with not high expectations. Certainly both sides suffered from being rebuilt sides and a testimony to the essens learned from 85-89 is that our improved performace beating Seth efrica on teh veldt is that we've managed to cover the losses of Hayden, Langer, Martyn, Gilchrist, Warne, and McGrath with far greater alacrity.

BTW think you under sell Hohns a bit.

It's not me underselling him mate - that was his reputation at the time. He hadn't played a test til that point and we didn't have a 'known' spinner at the time. He did a fantastic job that tour, no doubt.
