Was pretty good without starring, tucked the ball under the arm and went for a couple of nice runs along the outer wing.

Thanks mate ... I was ultra impressed with what I saw of him the week before and IMHO is definitely one to keep an eye on.

He is going to be a very good player for a number of years. Took a while to break into the league side (i thought he should have been given a go earlier) but has done really well since given a go. I know Timmy loves him.

Had a good grounding in the ressies last year and has played some great footy in the league side this year. Hes the sort of player in my opinion that could be a future leader.

Port done a great job beating Norths 18 on the ground plus the 2 other maggots!
Can't argue with that too much. First quarter North easily had the better of the umpiring. After that it evened out but at the end of the day Port deserved to win and did. Port have had their fair share of umpiring help over the years though particularly a number 11 who was never able to make the step up to the next level.

Thats a cracker rod_rooster, if that bloke was given the free's he deserved he would of kicked 200 in a year!![]()
As for AFL atleast he had a crack rod, if its the bloke i think your talking about 38 games & 100 goals at the Crows, i wouldn't say he never made the step up.

well surely the umpiring was only disgraceful in the first quarter then?
I hate seeing players take on the tackler, get tackled, the ball spills free, & the umpire calls play on, whilst a bloke will take possession of the ball, have limited opportunity to get rid of it, yet gets pinged...

Yep, who cares about U18s results? All the good kids will be snapped up in the AFL draft, so no clubs will really benefit.

When the kids are drafted into the AFL the clubs do benefit - financially.
Not all the good juniors will get drafted some will go on to play alot of SANFL footy. With your attitude why do North worry about having U18s.

Wedgie wrote:North use it to play kids under 18 that arent good enough for senior football. Other clubs use it differently, so be it hence the current results.
Even if they did use it the same I think you'll find North's junior team result in the last 5 years would be one of the best.
From memory we've won more underage flags than Port in th last 4 years, had 2 more reserves flags, play more senior finals and have successful financial revenues and in the last year had 6 kids drafted to Port's 1.
To claim that Port has a brighter future based on one or two weeks of results is ridiculously ignorant.
