I wish the new posters on here could type properly. This isn't a bloody high school texting forum. Lift your game lads. Enough of last weeks games, vidic has gotten a game and lets move on from here.

I'm heading out to watch the uraidla mt lofty game this weekend. Should be a good one with I reckon lofty's by under 2 goals. The next month according to the president of lofty will really shape the season with uraidla, hahndorf, bridgy and then blackwood.

Tips for this weekend chaps?

Well while you blokes argue about Vidic, we have a goal umpire and player who feel very much let down by the 'club report' system. Why would a goal umpire make a report unless he felt it was necessary when it means he needs to attend a tribunual hearing during the week? I find it unbelievable that a player's word would be held in higher regard than the goal umpire when the 'victim' was required to attend hospital to have a dislocated jaw put back in place. How does a bloke get a dislocated jaw when only two players are standing in the goal square?

I'm not sure how many witness's were there for each side or what evidence was put forward but which part is pathetic?

What did the video show - did they present that at the tribunal?

The word of the offending player was taken over the word of an umpire who is a member of the Umpires Panel and has over 20 years umpiring experience, winning multiple awards, umpiring numerous grand finals and association games.

Field, Goal of Boundary, it shouldn't matter. If these people are members of the umpiring panel they should demand the same respect from the players, the league and the commissioners.

If an umpire is going to be shown such disrespect as in this case, then why would an umpire even bother reporting incidents?

Well now your player and goal umpire know exactly how we felt after a similar hearing when a kid got a dislocated elbow from being stomped on.

I'm not saying either decision was right or wrong but the commission make a decision on the cases put forward.
In this latest case, your goal umpire got it totally wrong in what he thought happened. Despite the injury recieved, it was an accident and there was no malice involved.
Just because someone is injured, doesn't mean someone actually went out of their way to intentionally cause the injury.

That is bullsh1t mate, I was on the oval when Pup picked himself up with a dislocated jaw and returned to stand Longman as to ball was in the vicinity. The words from Longman were "grab my jumper again and I will hit you again"

Bloody hell mate, to dig up something from two years ago in the U17's that a bloke didn't do to make a tit for tat arguement is bloody weak.

It's not a tit-for-tat arguement. I merely stated that you guys are feeling exactly the same way as what we felt when the decision didn't go our way.

Get over it.

mt lofty v Uraidla will tell a big picture on how this year will go and if any team are as good as mT lofty. i think uri have been in front of both blackwood and handorf goign into the last quaters but been over run so they might need a bigger lead against a fit and quick mt lofty side. i think lofty with the likes of burch, peterson grey, pistola, gordon stapelton are all match winners and dont think uri have the cattle to go with these guys. lofty by 6 goal.

Bridgewater v Hahndorf - we will smash bridgy. coming off a loss the boys r really focused on smashing bridgy this week. bridgy may have improved this year but they are a young side who we will exploit physicaly and mentally. gags is in great form right now and i think he will kick a bag along with coops having the ball on a string.

Onka Valley v Mt. Barker - onkas have started this season well and mt barker have been weak. i think onkas new recruits have been a steadying influence on the side and with klun and kirwan in form they will belt nunans side by 10 goal. nunan would have to do the unthinkable for mt barker to win and cant see it happening.

Ironbank v Lobethal - 2 shit sides no one cares about. 2 weeks ago i would have said aufterhide would get lobey up by kicking a bag, but now with bradley in town ironbank are a stronger side and should in by 5 goal but should b a very competitive match.

Blackwood v Birdwood - will be great to see if birdwood can take it up 2 the form side in the comp, they will have to shut down roach and gigney and if they can do that by winning there share of the footy forward then i give them a chance but i just dont see them being able to do it for 4 quaters against a quality outfit who just go hard all day and never stop running the footy. blackwood by 8 goal

Tell that to the umpires coach. I believe he and the big "O" aren't too pleased with the outcome either.

I recall a fullback for Ironbank that had plenty to say against Bridgy earlier in the season when he was on the end of a football lesson from some Bridgy forwards, wonder if it's the same bloke, says alot and scrags but doesn't give much.
Surely if a player is continually warned about holding on to a bloke then he must expect something in return, i know i wouldn't expect to get away with it. A dislocated jaw is extreme but a shove in the face as described by some sounds about fair, just a shame it caused a serious injury. Doubt he'll be scragging blokes off the ball anymore, tough way to learn a lesson, hope he comes back and plays some good footy and doesn't lose his confidence.
In saying that accident or not if you get someone high, especially when you injure them you should be suspended regardless of intent

Totally wrong?

If he took this to court to get his hospital fees back, we all know who would win.

You talk some crap, don't think it will be that easy down at Bridgewater oval. You guys from Hahndorf talk like you have already one the flag. Let's be honest you have a bit of work to do only just getting the points against Uraidla and Birdwood and then going down to Blackwood.

Sounds like the Hills tribunal are at it again hey. Need consistency with behind the play hits. It seems like its either extreme suspension if everyone carrys on and sooks about it to the league, exaggaruates the injury, screams for justice, prints it in the courier & prints it in the match day budget or whatever its called before the hearing heard - OR they get 1 week or EVEN nothing. You say evidence was there - I say crap as a bloke got 9 weeks from memory last year and no evidence I know of, just he said vs he said - couldn't recognize him at the first hearing then slammed, as they wanted someones head due to the build up of bull##%. Get it right and be dam consistent. Even if it was an accident I doubt the Ironbank player whacked himself in the jaw. Good luck this weekend all. Feel free to whack someone as you only need a good story as the league tribunal jumps onboard good stories as proven before. :ymapplause: :-q Hope the young lad gets better asap - never does anything dirty - sounds like he was doing his job and defending tightly to me.

Not sure which incident you are refering to with the 9 week suspension, but if it is the Blackwood vs Bridgewater incident I believe there was video evidence given which was pretty conclusive.

He could be talking about the Hahndorf Vs IB game where Scott Purling had his cheekbone re-arranged and then IB sending a different player to the tribunal then the one that was reported......
