Yes captain one eyed you are correct give baggsy and littley the coaching job i can see a huge turn around at the club. Attitudes would change, discipline and more!!!! Hope theres no hard feelings between the two clubs! Top blokes and great to socialize with the mudlarks! You are a top bloke mate its great to be mates with you!

There were 2 teams out there, and the First incident was started by No 27 from
MYPONGA who belted Shane Mitchell. As stated by Kick N Catch age has nothing to
do with it in Senior Footy, they Too (the Young Myponga Players) wanted to be in the
ALL IN MELLIE. The Umpires are the one's who need to take some ownership in what
happened, they were Parthetic, they wern't the differance in the game as Myponga
were always going to win. They couln't control a good fart! The umpires were lucky
no player wasn't seriously hurt cause there were some almighty haymakers thrown!
1 Red Card (Will Tampara) & 2 players sent off.
If i was umpiring both teams would have had about 12 -15 blokes sittn on the bench!

Interesting comment singman. A number of your players did apologise. Including Craig Littley and Shirley and Dick Littley all so Tom Hooper who openly said he hates his coach and would like to go elsewhere. The umpire in control at the time "Glen Godfrey" who umpired the last 2 southern grand finals was given this game on special direction from the leauge as there is genuine concern on Shane Mitchels actions and those of a couple of players he bought with him. These are quotes from umpires. Encounter Bay have a great club with great people but have an idiot as an A grade coach. The umpiring was good what was not was the actions of 2 or 3 of your players who were being led by MITCHEL GET RID OF HIM APPOINT BAGGSY OR LITTLEY your club needs to unite.

[Hey richard i hope you tell the truth at your meeting and put your hand up for coach! I believe you will make a huge difference mate!!!!quote="Richard Chee Quee"]for once signman has it right. no one has left the club, just a few unavailable for various reasons. tom hooper is a good footballer and it would be a massive loss for the bays to lose him if he did go elsewhere. as for mitchell, he is up for review this week and all a grade players are being interviewed on tuesday night before training so if he is to be moved on by the club i would say it would happen in the near future so watch this space. (Randel Neale to takeover if he is moved on)

as for some positives from the weekend, i think the form on the enc bay back line of sanders, butler, lintern, weeds, blummy and young mick taggart was superb on the weekend. the score would have been much more ugly if these guys hadn't done suck a good job. (alot of pongy's goals were kicked by midfielders). other positives were the return of chad mclaren to the a grade side, his first for a long time and was named in the best players and also andy hargreaves who continues to play well. kicking 4 big ones playing in the middle.

finally i just hope everyone gets behind swainy and mick millard and co. these blokes put too much time and effort into the club to have to put up with what they are now.[/quote]

Does anyone else find all this amusing - that a coach appointed in his first year at a club would be up for review after round 6. If this is the case surely it would done in house with only the President and one or two of the committee aware of the situation rather than being made open discussion for all and sundry.
It does raise a couple of questions regarding the review though,
1. is this a scheduled review - maybe 3 a year ?
2. is it bought about by the actions of the coach ?
3. is it due to the on field performances ?
4. does the club have an out clause ?
From the outside looking in I can't see any good coming from all this, surely the management can get control of on field discipline, after all the coach was appointed by them. Leave the coaching reviews to the end of the year as the local blokes seem to be hanging tough with a good group in the 19 - 23 age bracket that have come through the grades and have the club at heart and wont be moving anywhere.

Surely all clubs, presidents, committees etc meet with the coaching staff every 5-6 weeks to discuss how they feel the on-field side of the place is going.

I would think its just a regular meeting. They brought in Shane Mitchell for a reason and surely arent regretting that decision 6 weeks into the season.

How did you see your game on the weekend BJ?
Its the first time i have seen Willunga this year, so its interesting to hear you say that you played your best footy in the second half. Not making excuses, but if Goolwa used the ball better and had an effective marking option up forward i think the end scoreline would have been much closer. The Magpies probably didnt deserve to get done by so much in the end. Like all teams who are trying to rebuild, injuries will hurt them more than other clubs with more depth, and i thought the Magpies put up a spirited performance.

My game personally or the teams game Dutchman?

We were patchy, our first quarter was good but we didnt kick well for goal. The second quarter i thought they outworked us and they kicked some good goals and got some momentum going. The scuffle at half time certainly saw us switch on and in the second half we ran the ball a lot better and with that quicker ball movement allowed our forwards and crumbers a much better chance at getting an effective mark or crumb. We scored 13/14 goals in the second half, had 39 scoring shots to 18 and had more scoring shots to half time even though we were down.

All credit to Goolwa, their midfield worked well as i said with Ewer and Yeomans playing well. I thought both Jones' ruckwork was handy and gave their mids as much look at the ball as ours got. White is a big forward target, Haskett just nullified him beautifully, outbodied him several times and was good the few times he was able to get off and run!

1/3 through the season, 6-7 new players in the side and starting to work out the best setup we can have. Losing quality players in Dobson, Ryan, Wadewitz, Carpenter, Radbone, Bennett and Langford all from the 21 that played in last years GF will take some time for everyone to settle.

Sorry its a bit of a novel.

Half time scuffle helped you switch on? Maybe Genners could kick someone in the head every time you are down at half time :)

Good Dutchman, very good...was pretty poor on Genners behalf.

im told that mitchel's review was scheduled for 6 weeks and again at 12 weeks. i think oringinal reason was to make sure everything was going swimmingly and that the club was on top of any issues. to my knowledge of the club its the first time in a long time that the players will be involved in a reveiw.

when is Nick Hooper not i-rate. One of the grumpiest men around, don't think he would remember the last time he smiled
As for E-Bay stop screwing around and admit a mistake, get rid of Mitchell before the hole deepens. The man couldn't coach his finger up his own arse with a pound of butter

FWIW I played under Shayne Mitchell last year and didn't think he was the worst coach I've ever seen and he did have the club at heart off the field when it came to helping out with functions and other small stuff that you wouldn't expect from a coach. Some may say that you'd do these things to give you that little extra in your favor when reappointment came up but in his case I don't believe this to be so.
Hope things go well for him this year and for Encounter Bay.

[on reflection Signman, Nick has a point and i should not have put Tom's names in the forum. I believe this has put unneccesary pressure on a good kid who very much enjoys playing at the bays. The information i recieved came from other players and would have been exaggerated over the evening i am sure he doesnt hate his coach.
