Shows mental weakness to me.

His job is to do whatever Andy Flower and Andrew Strauss want him to do. If they think they have nothing to gain by putting him out there for 3 overs then that is fair enough and IMO they are right. Like i said what have they got to gain by sending KP into bat? He can not get his eye in for day 2, he is very unlikely to make any more than 5 and is every chance of being dismissed. How does it harm the team by having him sit in dressing room and wait until the next day to come into bat?

What do you expect. His old man was even worse. Check out his reaction to his dismissal to Steve Waugh in the Bicentennial Test in 1988.

Here's how I see it Bloods. I've always agreed with Ian Chappell that you should always do just what your opposition doesn't want you to do. I reckon the Windies would have loved to have a crack at KP in fading light. They don't want a night watchman possibly holding up the show the next day and at 3 for 356 have KP coming out in the bright sunlight (yeah right LOL). There have been a couple of famous knocks by nightwatchmen over the years including Eddie Hemmings with a 90 in Sydney and even a Century by Tony Mann going even further back. Sending in a nightwatchman isn't necessarily a defensive move or a sign of weakness.

Why is Gayle even playing? They should sack him and play someone who actually wants to play Test cricket.

Gayle made 50 odd from 39 balls or thereabouts - similar strike rate to his T20 career

Gayle backtracks on captaincy comments

http://content.cricinfo.com/engvwi2009/ ... 04919.html

I'm definitely enjoying the captaincy," he said. "It has done a lot for me as an individual and I can't be ungrateful and say it hasn't. I appreciate it and am happy to lead the West Indies whenever and wherever. We have a good bunch of guys here and it's a learning process for them. For me I'm still enjoying the cricket and if I'm not it wouldn't make sense to carry on."

Why must there be a "Player of the Series" from both sides for Test Series that are played in England?

This series is an example of its craziness -

FIDEL EDWARDS
7 wickets at 31.00
(The biggest issue is that he took 6/92 in one innings and managed just 1/125 in the rest of the series)

Did anyone catch the English commentators talking up their Ashes chances? England to win 3-0?! They are seriously deluded.
