Nice work! I have to say it's a better piece than anything the local papers have to offer, particularly the Southern Argus. Some very ordinary journalism in that publication.![]()
Would never slander a fellow journo, from all reports it is palatable.

Hate to blow your theory out of the water there D&W but I'm not who you think I am, although I'm flattered that you think my posts are worthy of an 'editorial' standard.
I'm afraid I've never played a game of football in my life due to medical reasons (plus I'm just sh1t, but I usually run with the 'medical' excuse), let alone coached. My younger siblings are extremely handy players for LC, hence my interest in the GSFL.
I'm afraid I am just the humble local librarian who's football expertise extends no further than the couch/car seat.

How did Jai McMurtrie find his way to the Creeks? Was one of the favourite sons at Callington (Mainly because he was the only local in the past 20 years to have one iota of talent) Callington would not be happy with his departure.

Got no idea how they pulled that one off, I don't have a lot to do with the inner workings of the club but their ability to get pen to paper this year has been impressive to say the least.
The Murgatroyd 'steal' from Strath is becoming the stuff of local legend, some classic banter in the local team spots in the Argus and in the Hawk Herald last week. lol
As for your question BJ, speaking to the captain last week after the game I wouldn't like to be Myponga this week. The only thing that will save them from a belting is if this rain keeps coming down today to make the Myponga oval the appropriate condition for the aptly named Mudlarks. It is bucketing down here where I am in Victor at the moment.

Jimmy. Pleased to see you are an expert on the GSFL after watching one match this year. (saw your comments re umpiring decision) As well as having contacts with Barry Pitman down at Yank regarding the weather.![]()
What were your thoughts on the standard of the Mclaren and Yank game?

Mclaren V Yankalilla A GRADE
Last quarter and the scores were very close.
Yank player grabs the ball at centre wing, in front of the clubrooms and the crowd.
Runs on 45 degree angle towards the boundary and the end McLaren was kicking....I thought to get space and then tocentre the ball
BUT NO HE THEN PUTS ON A SPURT AND KEEPS RUNNING THE WRONG WAY AND KICKS 45 METRES THE WRONG WAY.
PRICELESS

I just read that on Adelaide Now website.
Appears they are calling into 'the shoe' so I suppose they could very well end up at the footy in Victor as well ??
Canteen sales could go through the roof
