half time
Liverpool 2 (3) - Madrid 0 (0)

Terrific 1st half and Liverpool could easily be 4 up if not for Casillas.

Pepe for Madrid, cautioned after the 1st 10 mins keeps making yellow card tackles but is still on the pitch.
For how much longer???????

In a case of mistaken identity, Alonso fouled a Madrid player but Mascherano received the card.
Of course Masch tried his best to receive a 2nd yellow with his mouth but hopefully he doesnt get another yellow in the 2nd half because of the refs identity crisis.

Easy in hindsight I know Jabber, but who could have foreseen the 12-1 thumping! Nothing dour or even remotely German about that! They could be the dark horse in this thing. 7-1 this morning! And just quietly, how good was Stevie G this morning! How was the finish for his 2nd goal! =D>

Real are a rabble now. That was a thrashing this morning and they deserved it for their el presidente thinking they could just turn up and win with ease.

Good work by Bayern, they blitzed Sporting home and away who are not good enough for this level.

Real have been on fire in La Liga since Juande arrived (their 1-1 slip up against niegbours Atletico on the weekend aside). They're just rubish in Europe. They have been for years too. Even when they had the Galacticos side.

Nah Chelsea had won 1-0 at home so 3-2 on aggregate, Bayern 12 -1 didn't Australia win a baseball game by this much recently?
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

I think a bit of credit to the way Liverpool played wouldn't go astray.
I can safely say that if Casillas wasn't in goal Liverpool would've scored 7-8 .
I'll also add that after the game had finished I thought that it was probably the most complete, attacking and domineering game I'd seen from them since they did Forest 5-0 in 1988.
I'd mention the 7-0 spurs game in 1978 but I like DA on these forums.
Having said that if we had to play Rushden and Diamonds this weekend we'd probably lose as we just can't maintain THAT level.
But if we do then we are a BIG chance of defeating the prawn sandwich eating Mancs this weekend.

Liverpool were brilliant IMO. Gerrard was superb. But Liverpool suck in the EPL. They wont beat Man U.

The reds go marching on,on,on. Fantastic 2-0 result over Inter,Vidic and Ronaldo both scoring. Man U going to be a very tough team to score against the backs are in outstanding form are a real chance to take all the silverwear up for grabs. How well is Vidic going scoring on a regular basis. **** Jose thinks he feels very much at home at Old Trafford well stick that up your arse, only the secoond time Fergi has beaten him.

I think there's a bit of a double meaning in Jose's comments in that, yes he's done well in the past at Old Trafford, but also that he feels at home at OT, hinting that he's up for the gig of replacing Fergie.

He also said that Fergie will be at OT for another 20 years and he will be ready to take over then... bit of a character and it's all mind games really. I'm glad we got through it. Inter are a rabble usually in Europe but it was always a danger game as Mourinho has a good record over United.

Brilliant header by Vidic to give us the lead. What a player.

Not sure how it's possible to follow two clubs?

What happens if Cardiff one day earn promotion to the Premiership??
