Great post CP. How refreshing has it been to see Australia have to fight for a change. We have fought and lost and I'm ok with that as out time had to come to an end and another country was always going to pick up the slack.

It would only be the South Africans and the West Indies I could handle losing too. India do nothing when they come here so the odd loss to them on the sub continent is purely hollow joy for them and the billion odd fans they have.

To see the Windies back near the top with 4 quicks tearing teams a new one would be great to see once more. I love watching Australia win,but how good would cricket be with 3 teams genuinely fighting for the number 1 spot. If any country reminds me of the way Australia plays then its South Africa. This summer just gone and now this tour have been highlights of the last 10 years for mine.

Even better post Booney, and I reckon the Saffies have earn't a heap of admiration over here ... For a country that was previously the butt of all jokes for the manner of ways we could always find to pip them, they play a great brand of cricket and display a lot of mental bottle (certainly more than they used to), personally they have well and truly earnt the respect of this little black duck.

I think for many Aussie cricket fans, the best days were watching a young group get better and better until they claimed the mantle as the games best, so this re-building phase holds similar interest ... No doubt we'll wear a few hidings here and there but it's all part of the climb back to being the games heavyweight.

The series here and also what I've seen over in SA thus far has really renewed my interest in cricket, and reminded me of why it can be such a great game.

Last season I'd had enough of it because of the Indians. Now because of the South Africans, it's exactly as you say.

don't we all, but it's impossible.

i expect Australia to win most of the time, but when they lose, they shall lose fighting and not by much.

I dont.

I enjoy us winning but i much prefer the contests that we are getting now rather than the demolition jobs we were dishing up in the early 2000's.

I just prefer good cricket, and if it just so happens to be the Aussies who play it a helluva lot better than the others, like the early 2000s, then so be it.

's wonderful performances really don't have a clue.

It would be nice if Johnson brought his A game for a second innings. He ripped through them with career-best figures in the first dig here but how about getting your line right when the match is up for grabs?

This could make or break a few of these young bowlers careers. If South Africa get the runs will our bowlers ever mentally recover.

This is bloody terrible. We need some wickets fast. Don't tell me we are going to roll over and let them pull off another record chase against us? 2/200-odd in the last innings is shocking bowling.
