Just for a bit of fun, too early to really tell...

I reckon:

Imperials
Tailem Bend
Ramblers
Jervois
Mannum

Mypolonga
Meningie

Yup, I'm tipping last years Grand Finalist to stuggle to make finals.

A lot of people seem to be tipping imps. I hope they are right. With Seyers back it allows Harrowfield to move into the midfield. Also should have Puckridge for the full year and the Kenny Brothers should make a fair bit of difference. Hope these all make enough difference to allow us to be successful again this year. We have waited along time.

Do people agree that this could possibly be one of the most even seasons for a long time in the RMFL?
Could 6 of the 7 teams realistically win the flag in 09?
There wont be to many easy games.

Should be a particularly interesting season, injuries could play a big part.

I think Imps will be right up there, i don't think Ramblers should be underestimated though despite losing some key players, same for Jervois. Mannum's good depth should see them right up in top 3 contention too.

Mypo will have some quality players but may not have the depth of last year.

I'm tempted to do a prediction of a premiership table, but will wait for confirmation of recruits first.

Wow, this has a bit of "Tailem in the 90s flavour to it"....

What new players were out there?? All the players that have been talked about?

That's really exciting, I should start getting involved in the club again!!

Bell, Radis, comer, Linke, Lynch, Thomas, Vickers all attended training.
And all the usual locals were out, Like muff, hogarth, gregurke, the Occonnel twins, schultz, linde.

I think you are right.

Imps would have to be the favourite. Best list on paper so far... so real quality there and there is always a degree of professionalism at the club. Whether or not they can pull it off is another issue.

Tailem Bend will surpise a lot. List is comparable ro Imperials, and Tailem's best are better than Imperials best... so don't be suprised if they clam it.

Ramblers where an absolute powerhouse in 08. Been rather quite in the Roosters camp, but Dougal will make a fantastic coach and they won't drop away dramatically.

Jervois I think can go either way... Undecided on how they might travel this year, but they do have a great list, and have last years most influential player in the competition. You always know they will add to there list, even possibly after round 1 commences. Should play finals.

Mannum will depend on how the playing group reacts to the new coach. Been a lot of possitive talk about him, also some that is not so reassuring. Great players so far, but not too sure they got the depth across the board.

Mypo I think will slip, but I will say this about them, they truely do believe in themselves and are a spirited mob. They will suffer majorly with players losses, but with solid gains and emeraging younger talent, they could prove me wrong. Should have a quality midfeild, Eckermann can play and young Scott Meneghetti is a star, really underated.

Meningie..... are shot.

cant believe imps are the big tip for 2009. i think ramblers will still be hard to beat, they will still have the forwards and with tyson matthews still there along with the oneil boys, you cant write them off,i think they will have some good recruits up their sleeves. seyers the key for imps, teams find it hard to match up on him, can dominate any position

here are the x factors for each team,

imps-matt seyers and ryan eyre
jervois-trev rigney
mannum-andrew warnest and matt connelly
mypo-cain lynne and wallfried
tailem- merv katinyeri and dylan hogarth
meningie-ryan mallard and robinson
ramblers-tyson matthews and ryan viney

Going on previous posts on this site, it looks as though Wallifried has left Mypo. The Tigers 2 recruits from North Adelaide, as well as Lynne, will presumably be their key players this year.

Yeah it was actually stated on the GSFL thread on here that Love had signed with the Chooks.

What type of player is Jaymon Tripp, which club did he previously play for?

i think jaymon tripp played for kilburn last yr, good player, you can play him back, forward or midfield. hes a left footer, good runner and hard at it. will be a good pick up for the roosters if he is fit

caught the end of Tailem training thursday night. noticed raidis, bell & steve thomas made the journey up. Dent looked to be pretty vocal towards the end.

Still believe Ramblers will be the side to beat. I also thought Matt Connelly had retired...would hardly say he is an X Factor these days ;)
