I think you'll find S Ryan is going around again for the Bombers...

Cussadia is a blow as he was one of the younger brigade Kapunda had, I think they may struggle in the next few years unless they import well and have new players move into the zone...

Taylor has been quoted as leaving, can anyone confirm this???

Had heard that taylor was close to going to hummocks in apfl

What club is Brendan Niklaus (Gawler Central) going to? That will be a blow for them, coz he kicked around 50 goals I think last season.

We were hopefully of getting Matt Green back to the club but heard tonight he has joined Hamley Bridge, I think the pull may have been Liam Pratt another ex donnie at HB.

Don't know much about the above list however I am fairly sure they have signed an on baller from Tea Tree Gully who lives in Gawler. I dont want to tell you his name just yet because if i am wrong i will try to get him out with us.

Appears the current Hamley coach has poached some stocks from his old mentor. One would assume that he will be scratched from his christmas card list for this year  . They have always struggled for a gun recruit out there.

Assuming the comp revloves around your club is the mistake that angaston has made sunblower and its hilarious to watch you blame everyone else but yourself.

I hope the clubs get behind the BLG directors and support whatever decision they make because our comp doesn't need this crap, we're better than that.

I must have hit a raw nerve there somewhere Pinch Hitler (touche) for you to get this upset. Angaston is the least influential of any of the clubs in the current BLG being the smallest and most unsuccessful, however unlike most when we go to a meeting we wear our football cap not our club one. Ask Nobby. The decision isn't the directors to make, their brief is to operate the comp in the interests of ALL clubs. I can't see how disadvantaging 3 clubs for no real reason is beneficial to the comp, perhaps you can. As for prior notice, the VF has been held in the same time frame for the last 50 years and we've been able to work in with it in the past. Suddenly we can't! Perhaps you can explain that too when you tell us where the major sponsor is most likely to be on opening day. I also can't see where I or the the other clubs concerned have levelled any blame. Is there some blame to be levelled? We have a genuine concern for the draw as suggested and the Barossa clubs have the same rights as any other clubs in having the issue discussed. Your right though it shouldn't have come to this and commonsense should have prevailed in the first place. We'll know which way you'll be voting at the meeting and if we lose our bid to change the draw we'll have to look at ways to minimize the damage.

Sunbowler - I empathise with you and do understand your frustration, unfortunately our pour cousins from the southern end of the competition have always struggled to embrace culture and tradition. Maybe we will have to change the season so that it interferes with their own precession, the Gawler Mardi Gras. Im sure that like the Barossa, it will cause their own problems with organising their own floats for the event. :D

Freeling has missed out on Clive Waterhouse. Some spies say the Redlegs are holding some big names up their sleeve at the moment though. Be interesting to see who they are when they're announced.

What I have read on this very informative forum and the grapevine throughout the Barossa my early prediction on what the ladder will look like at the end of the minor round in 2009

Tanunda - Boh Wall out / Prior In, so not much different from last season but certainly wont have their own way.
South Gawler - A few handy inclusions and a couple of players in Bevis and Johnson will be missed, Geradis, well i think South would have held the door open after he continuelly told them how good he was. Been around the mark past few years and think will take the next step.
Angaston - will be, along with Nuri the surprise packet of the year. Picked up really well and lost a couple of blokes but really not too damaging in the A-grade side. Kyle McLean being 6'5 will be missed but think they can cover him and win enough games to play finals footy
Nuriootpa - Lost Trewin to Torrens Valley for cash but at the moment thats the only lost that I can confirm. All the kids that took off are coming home so they could be a very competative side and with their performance from the last half of last year should get enough wins to scrape into 4th
Gawler Centrals - The talk of the town is these guys taking the next step but what I have heard is that they have lost more than picked up. Yes a few boys are coming home but I will be very interested in watching their progress this year.
Barossa - Will be very competative but the losses may cost them a few games this year which will make them finish out of the four. Could be wrong but think 4, 5 and 6 will finish as selected.
Kapunda - Along with Willaston are the quite movers so far this year, not much has been said but what has Kapunda have lost a couple of solid A-grade players and with a considerable amounbt of other players aging could struggle
Willaston - Not much has been said, apparently Ben Casey in so their midfield will be handy once again this year but may struggle around the ground. New coach at the club will upset a few boys but all for the good of the club.
Freeling - So far not great success with 2009 recruits, blokes making a runner and then others committing to sign and then pulling out at the 11th hour for more cash elswhere. Another tough year ahead for the Redlegs unless Prousey has a few quiet recruits he is sitting on

Boys and girls, you can agree to disagree with the above but it is only one mans opinion.

Freeling have six imports

1) Mensforth Luke from Reynella
2) Kemp Andrew from Happy Valley

So still have a bit of room, Heard they are chasing a pair of brothers from the Port Magpies,

dont know much about the other guys Pinchhitter, but Grantley Treloar, is a solid backman who played A grade in the Riverland. However, he might struggle to crack a strong BLG team defence IMO. Played A grade at Berri and Loxton before going to Cobby.
Don Brook, the guy from Tea Tree Gully living in Gawler wouldnt be Chad Gibson would it ?
I think you'll find that Kemp from Happy Valley is playing as a local , which still gives Freeling 5 imports, lotta water to go under the bridge yet.
How are the boys taking to Olly anyway ?
