Bird has only just come back into the state ranks after having his action reviewed and modified to minimise the throwing action. He still throws it IMO esspecially his effort balls which are around 145km/h

He did everything he could to help the vics over the line last match too, ultra conservative with mental blocks when the pressure is on.

I agree his capancty was so poor, should have used more of cullen earlier cos the medium pacers were going everywhere. However his cach of Tait and some of his glovework hilighted the fact that he is still by far the best keeper in the country

Big call to say he's the best keeper in the country but he is a long way ahead of Haddin no doubt. His footwork is excellent.

i agree its a big call and there would be a couple in front of haddin. his footwork and glovework are excellent. which other wk do you think could match him?

Just as pure keepers i'd have Paine very close to Manou and also possibly Hartley. They'd be the three best IMHO.

Graham Manou needs to learn what to do with his field placings if he wants to remain captain.

In the last two 20/20 games he has donated the opposition enough runs for them to win by not bringing in his inner circle fielders to cut off the easy singles. Which leads to the question, what part does Sorrell play in getting a message to him or has he missed the boat also?

I know it's only T20 but it's pretty sad when a near full strength SA side doesn't really get close to a NSW side missing

Could've been a very different story had Warner's wicket not been on a no ball.

BUT it was a no ball.

Thats like saying it could have been a different story had Warner's six of Tait hit a cm higher on the bat he then would have skyed it and been caught.

Silly statement.

people always say that, but NSW have almost 4.5 million people we have 1.5, so they should have more good cricketers than us

Not a silly statement at all whufc because that delivery alone shows how volatile T20 is. Wouldn't have been as costly in a test match or even an ODI (not in most cases anyway); in a T20 though you've got 4 overs before you're out of the attack and they could make the difference between a thumping win and a crushing defeat. It's a cutthroat format that's for sure.

So long as it doesn't kill test cricket, I don't mind it. Great to see Tait in the wickets again!

You could say that about every single delivery in every single cricket match ever played.

eg. If the ball that bowled Smith 2nd innings landed 5 cm to the right misses the crack he doesn't get bowled.

eg. gust of wind blows as Kallis gets leading edge forcing ball to drop quicker and McDonald can't get finger underneath

eg. Ball that dismissed McKenzie 2nd innings if Bollinger bowls it 2 km quicker McKenzie doesn't get bat there on time and plays and misses.

eg. Hayden first test in India if he got the right desicion could have gone on to make 150 runs and builds his confidence and could now be in career best form.

It's all a bunch of sliding doors, you can only go by what acutally does happen not what could have happened.

can anyone confirm the final structure for this?

from the program there is a Prelim and a Final so Im guessing the top team goes thru to the final and 2nd & 3rd playoff to meet them?

makes tonights game pretty big, the winner almost assured top spot

Good to see Matt Weeks get a go in this form after his 71* for Port in the district T20 final.

In the big bash they all play five games each, if sides finish on equal points at the end how is it determined which team finishes the highest?

how does Chadd Sayers not get a game for the Redbacks, may as well give him a gig in the t20 stuff see how he goes. Leading wicket taker again, what dont the selectors like about him? he can also bat.
