If i went through every team then yes i would've added them they are/were both very good cricketers but as Booney said i think it is best we do our own clubs.

[quote="Amateur Footy"]I would say the standard had been slowly falling for about 20 years up until a year or so ago. Section 2 would now be stronger than I have ever seen and section 1 is back on the rise. The depth across all clubs may not yet be what it used to be but clubs at the top have probably got more depth in Sect 1 and 2 than for many years - we certainly have. I think the big difference is we are missing a few top players from a year or two ago. Look at the list of who has (come and) gone in last couple of years:

Sorry AF I have to disagree with you there mate, I played over 10 years of section 2 cricket and in the late 90's early 2000's that section was stronger than section 1 is now, you had to win 9 games to make the finals because there were 8-9 teams capable of playing finals. Section 2 now since we went up, south rd went up and Sheidow pk this year I think with out those A grade sides playing in it the standard wont be the same.

That is a big call bazza i still think the top 4-6 sides of section would beat the section 2 sides of the last decade.

I think by saying section 2 was stonger then than what section 1 is now that would be a fair 'interpretation' that they would beat the current section 1 sides. Maybe someone else will agree with me or tell me i am wrong.

In the past after 4 rounds the finals race wasn't between 6 sides it was between probably 10 so yes it was a much more even competition.
