SJABC glad you found the Spurs thread . Might have to put the Rams Spurs games on hold for a while yet.

Thanks DA for the spurs jig explaination. Everyone seems to going apeshit all the time when I am watching.

The Liverpool League Cup game was another step forward but Gomes is starting to cause me some grief with the corners , do we stick with him?

Get rid of Gomes. He is completley out of confidence at the moment and i can't bear to think how many goals the opposition has scored from set pieces this year. We have to pick someone else up when the transfer window opens.

I hope he can put it all together soon.

His long shot saves against Fulham were great.

Agree EOT, his long shot stops against Fulham were top drawer. All his troubles started before kick off when the wanker badger fans gave raucous applause to the inclusion of Gomes and then proceeded to chant 'dodgy keeper' all bloody game until he had the brain implosion.

I think we need to stick with him. We paid 8m quid for him. He's got some great aspects to his game, he just needs to improve his decision making when coming out for a ball to prevent 1. him not getting to the ball, or fumbling it because he didn't get in the right position and 2. him almost killing one of our CB's, which he's tried 3 times now.

We need to remember, he's only 27. Most keepers hit their prime at 30, with the exception of a VERY select few.

And besides, list an available option that's better. Robbo?......Loved him, but no thanks. Green....erm...no thanks. David James.......no, purely because he has history and Spurs are brilliant at destroying keepers. Hart....young talent, maybe with reservations. Shay Given...yes please, but what's he going to cost?

Once again, the problem for us starts in the midfield, defensively. Sort that out and we'll be relying less on Gomes anyway.

Off the topic, Spurs have been linked with Gareth Barry now the Scouse stuffed up their chance to sign him. IMO, Barry is just what we need, and we're silly enough to pay silly money to land him.

Assume you were able to get a ticket for the Fulham game DA. Looks like great old fashion type of ground with real atmosphere.
Whats their crowd like ? Haven't really heard them sing much and seems like are well behaved lot.

Will be interesting to see the reception Robbo gets at the lane this week. Not sure what his form is like this season but would have to agree that spurs have the knack of removing the keepers confidence.

Bob Green is a brilliant keeper, the best english keeper going around at the moment by a mile. I would go as far as to say almost the best keeper in the EPL, has saved West Ham time and time again, only slight flaw is coming out at set pieces, not sure how old he is but he is young,

The next superstar keeper Bob Green.

And no i don't just talk up West Ham players infact i think we have a fair few donkeys there at the moment so bias doesn't come into it.

Jabber, you can go into most sports shops across Europe and they will be selling Man U, Chavski, Arsenal, Liverpool, Celtic, Rangers and of course Bunley replica shirts.

It's about business and a world wide fan base.

got to abmit I have seen a few shops in southern Europe selling Spurs tops but not nearly as many who sell the big 4.

Yeah, that's the trouble Jabber, Spurs aren't a big club in Europe, as much as they are in my head  .

I've been to every western European country south of Denmark, a few eastern European countries, plus Morocco and Egypt and I haven't seen a Spurs shirt anywhere except on the back of a couple of English tourists. (Burnley replica shirts on the other hand are mainstream  )

His best bet would be a stopover in Thailand or good old ebay. For the best replica kits from ebay, tell him to ask the lads on this forum: http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk

Sorry mate, but Calamity James is well ahead of Green on the England front and Cech and Edwin VDS are a couple of classes above. I also rate Jaskeleinen highly.

Green has been good for you boys, I just don't think he's world class, but each to their own.

Spurs axe coach

Goalkeeping coach departs Tottenham

Tottenham have confirmed that they have parted company with goalkeeping coach Hans Leitert.
The 35-year-old Austrian only arrived in the summer under the Juande Ramos regime.
Leitert has been working with under-fire Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes, but now Harry Redknapp has decided he is no longer needed.
"We should like to thank him for his contribution and wish him well," said a Spurs statement."An announcement regarding a new appointment will be made in due course."

Talking of Tottenham Keepers, I found this. Hmmmmmmmm

Thanks to The Sporting Life

ALNWICK MAKES TOTTENHAM RETURN

Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has returned to parent club Tottenham after the North Londoners opted not to extend his loan deal at Carlisle.
Brought in on an initial one-month loan deal by former Blues manager John Ward, Alnwick impressed during his time at Brunton Park.
However, his loan spell came to an end following last weekend's 3-1 win over Brighton and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has opted to re-assess the 21-year-old as a possible understudy to heavily-criticised first-choice stopper Heurelho Gomes.

Carlisle caretaker boss Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "It was important that any decision that was made was in the best interests of the player. "The coaching and management staff at Tottenham want to take a closer look at him, and it may open up an opportunity for him with them - we are happy to go along with that, as Ben obviously wants to show them what he is capable of. "We thank Ben for his efforts over the course of the last four weeks. It has been a successful stay with us, and he is definitely still on our radar."

Good to have you onboard JTC! It's funny this week. Normally I wouldn't have placed any extra emphasis on a win, but beating Bastards was great.

That knob jockey Andrews from Milton Keynes is a complete muppet. Studs up against him at Spewwood IMO.

And great decision by Webb (not many times I've put that in a sentence!!!) to send off Olssen. He hacked Lennon 3 times due to being totally outclassed and had to go.

Well done to Lennon, we was amazing today.

I saw that. said he booked him for the 1 hack, but let play carry on as Spurs had possession. Then he hacked Lennon down for a 2nd time but the ref let that one go.

TBH, the ref should have shown 2 yellows one after the other followed by the red. IMO both those tackles were bookable. Then a 3rd. Lennon was just too good.

Good win but you did look very nerevous on the last 15 mins or so. Still a win is a win and you are out of the bottom 3.

Wonder what the odds are for Spurs finishing higher than Arsenal this year ?

I agree, he should have ben off for the '2 in 1' effort. Both were disgraceful and purely because he was well beaten.

Mate, I sweated like a pig for the last 20. We were better IMO, but with Spurs, you just always think that there's drama around the corner, because 99 times in 100, there is! I think I had 3 nervouse pints of Guiness in the last 20 mins, followed by a looong, slow celebratory pint on 93 mins. Ahhhhhhh out of the drop zone.....COYS.

The Gooners are in our sights.
