What club is looking at Jhon Jarred GW and what are they expecting from him?

I believe he has signed at Macclesfield. I know they tried to get him last year but were unsuccessful.
Not sure what they are expecting but good big men are always hard to come by.

Has he been taken on as a player or a coach?

John Jarrad is a battler. Certainly gives his all and as a defender is serviceable. As a ruckman i am not sure very strong so can compete around the ground but in the middle does not get off the ground.

Has to be Broadview, disappointing year for your lads wang. Trying to poach some players from the GSFL? The big srek won't be happy, according to him the SFL/GSFL have nothing on teams and payers from Div 1-3 amateurs.

If TBS says it then it must be right. Altho i think he was saying the majority of teams from these leagues wouldnt be Div 1 if any and hes probably right. You would look at ur M Vales, Coves and Willunga but that would be it from the season just gone. These teams however would improve markedly if they were to play the standard that A1 do each week because as a whole the Div 1 amateur comp is a lot stronger.

Almost thought the article in yesterdays paper on Kym Koster was about Victors superstar Lee Saunders until i read on.

Ha ha. At least I said it in a hostile forum to stir you blokes up. All you can do Damo is state something that all of your mates here will agree with.

Furthermore I never commented on the standard of the GSFL. I have never seen a GSFL game and the only people I know in the league are the Love boys. Both of them said that the GSFL was about div 4 standard. This isn't my opinion by the way, as I said before I have no idea about the GSFL.

There would be very few (if any) of us at Goolwa who would cut it in Div 2, especially not as key position players. You certainly would not fork out money for a GSFL player from the bottom side. This is how silly recruiting is, it doesn't matter where or who you play for all you need to do is make up an over inflated resume and name a figure.

I don't know the guy my self but I think what LF is saying is Div 2 is a strong comp and he has only ever played in unsuccessful sides in both GSFL and Hills Country, has he had any personnel success at any of these clubs? Mail medals or B&F's?

I think i have had this argument with you on other forums Shrek, where you are wrong is saying that Willunga, M/Vale, Cove would not be anywhere near div 1 or 2 standard. They would all be on par if not better, with Broadview and Seaton (Div 1 - 2008 and yes have been relegated but were Div 1 clubs) and would be very close to winning the Div 2 comp. I have spent quite a bit of time around the Seaton Football Club, so i know what their standard is like compared to SFL and GSFL. These are 3 very good footy sides and you are very naive to say they would struggle against teams in the lower half of div 1 and div 2. (which is what you have posted on other pages). This IS MY opinion and i do have some idea on all three leagues.

Damian, I just think that it is unacheivable for any country side to be good enough to not get relegated from div 1.

If I can be serious for a moment most people geberally agree that the country leagues are around div 3 standard. What you have to realise is that a div 3 team(unless it was exceptional, i.e. doesn't lose a game) would be murdered in div 2. When teams go up a div they recruit like mad otherwise they go straight back down.

If Willunga were truly of div 1 standard they would be the bottom teams by 40 goals and the mid range teams by 20 goals. It's very unrealistic for there to be that much of a discrepancy within the same league.

It's nothing to be ashamed of, there are just heaps more players in the city to draw on.

I understand that very well Shrekky, hence why Seaton went up and back again this year. Willunga have pasted some teams in the last few years, had 40 goal wins and this season i would say probably won atleast 5 or 6 games by 20 goals (BJ can probably confirm), were very rarely headed in a game. Strath who finished second, are probably of a low div 2 level or right up there in divvy 3. There is no doubt that Goodwod, Salisbury North, Henley, Gaza Gepps are a cut above the rest, but looking at the Div 2 grand finalists, SHOC's and Modbury, Willunga would have had them covered.
