Carey Payne coached Eastern Park SAAFL Div 3 to the Prelim final, they were minor premiers but fell over when it counted. Had a few injuries which didn't help their cause. Has been at EP for a while as a player and a fair player too, getting on a bit now to play A grade but is handy in the B's.
Has pulled EP up the ladder and is held in pretty high regard out there. Might bring a couple with him.

Well well well. Are you going there too boozehound? Or have you not been invited to the party?

Heard this rumour yesterday...

B&S you are around the mark with your question , the SANFL has approached Mick for a vacant position within there ranks. His tireless work with the BL&G has lifted the comp from a rabble 2 years ago to a competitive level again equivelant to leagues in outback SA.

There are numerous policies which Mick has implemented along with the support of the comittee. The import rule which allowed cellar dweller clubs like Barossa Districts win two consectuctive flags has now been rectified with Micks guidance and ongoing overview of the leagues clubs. Barossa Districts would of won 3 consectutive flags if it wasnt for a novice coach with no respect from his playing group.Freeling also have benefited from the large import concessions but were not able to capatalize .

Alot of work goes on behind the scenes Shrek , someone like yourself with little knowledge of grass roots football wouldnt grasp the concept of what is involved to be on a commitee.

Its a tough business , and you are not there to make friends. Micks hard work over the years has seen the BL&G blossom into the league it is today.

Hafey I would like to know how Freeling benefited from their generous import allocation. All it has done is cost the club a massive amount of money, no flags, no improvements to facilites, a split club, possibility of some their local guns heading to Adelaide and if you believe the rumours they are financially in trouble and with todays north wind knocking the crops about, probably not a lot of money to come in from the farming sector. Not happy times at Freeling, the only victory they had for the year was the successful heist of bay 13 tent.

Apart from the appalling grammar and spelling(including spelling the same word two different ways; both incorrectly) and the obligatory digs at me and the Barossa coach, are you saying he has fiddled with the import numbers?

Wow!
