True, but once the boys are out of under 18s they're adults.Esteban Vihaio wrote:Club Culture: Strong drinking culture as there is at most senior footy clubs, parents are very much involved with the junior sides and young guys tend to hang around after juniors and play senior footy, which is what we survive on. Drinking culture is a double edged sword; Great for sponsorship and team atmosphere, bad if it gets out of hand and (kids) parents often disapprove

I've heard differnent. I cant belive that Ricky O'Loughlin would be playing for nothing
I can. Is good mates with Hocking, was not having his best year as far as getting on field and just wanted to play football.
Salisbury do give incentives though.
Scotch did pay their best 10 a couple of years ago quite well. I assume it is the same now.
SMOSH pay and I reckon SHOCs do too.

Incentives can hardly be seen as player payments, unless the same guy gets it every week.

I mean, unless you're on a weekly or seasonal salary from the club, it can't be seen as player payment. Rewarding a good effort is well different, cash or not.

I'll have to agree to disagree, but I do believe any payments/incentives should be performance based! I still believe if you play football and you receive cash for playing football then that is a player payment!

That's how I look at it as well mate. Hard to get blokes to the club by saying 'you get $60 if you're BOG'. Scotch may be a bit different if you're on the money Shrek, obviously they're extreme incen tives, but probably a better method than giving the same guy $300 a week regardless of how well/badly he plays.Quichey wrote:Incentives, such as a bit of cash for best player awards, are a lot different to a player being paid per game regardless of performance. The former is incomparable to the latter as a recruiting tool.

That can not be seen as player payment.

Not necessarily! If the player rates himself they would be thinking they would be in the best week in week out. Therefore certain of getting paid!
