If the towns do join, there is nothing wrong with eight teams in div one and seven in div two next year.

Why would div 5-7 clubs want to come to the SFL. they would get pumped by the top 10 sides and be comptetive with the bottom 4 surely they would rather stay in the leagues they are in??????

Perhaps you should read the post again; I think you missed the first sentence?

my point is that div 5-7 saafl teams would not be the standard the league would be interested in attracting surely.

I'd put all bar 3 in top 5 in div 5 but Hackham would be div 7, Lonsdale bottom half div 5 and Aldinga middle road div 5. People can become pig-headed by just looking at the division number and judging the division. Don't kid yourself that Greenacres and Golden Grove (Div 5 grand finalists) would not make the 8 in the SFL, because I reckon they would. Saying that I doubt any more Southern SAAFL teams will make the move, as I have previously posted I beleive some SFL clubs may now see an opening and try to get a spot in the SAAFL...........Could Brighton slot straight into div 2?? (Thats just a theory)

Making the 8 in the SFL is unfortunatley not much of a challenge. making the top 4 is a very different story. Unfortunately that is where the league is at at the moment.

Very good point, I would put all those sides in div 2/bottom half div 1 and then it drops away to div 4 standard. No wonder many clubs are frustrated.

Yes it is something that has been for a while, but other clubs are certainly trying to bridge the gap (ie morphie parks, aldinga, noarlunga) The most frustrating thing is that there is no quick fix. its a long process.

Mr Magoo wrote:Some of these posts re Edwardstown and SFL are so far out of reality it is not even funny.
Willunga and McLaren both former SFL Clubs chose to go to a Country League and play other country towns.....as did Kangy and Meadows.
Why would they consider going back???? It will not happen
It is good to have a chat amongst ourselves and put options up, but keep it real!!!
Get Edwardstown in the SFL, sort out the junior concerns then start dreaming of options
Have we ever heard one step at a time??????????
