Sorry then Mick, you just lost all credibility with me then in terms of footy knowledge ... Schawarze clearly had at least 3 opponents (that I saw) bamboozled (sometimes by ability sometimes by reputation IMHO) and dominated, but none of his opponents can earn a league game, yet you think your Magoo's can beat our league team .. C'mon mate, you gotta stop eating the fish outta West Lakes if they're having that much affect

Coach Ron Fuller again gave all praise to the players and stated that all contributed throughout the game. He was also pleased with the endeavour and being in front and putting bodies on the line.
Ron stated the match committee had an extremely difficult job doing best players but settled on
Best Mark McKenzie
2nd. Matthew Broadbent
3rd. Luke Powell
4th. Tom Corbett
5th. Craig Fitzgerald
6th. Luke Jarrad
With honourable mentions to the rest
Players MVP Luke Powell
Reserves Best James Rimmington

Any chance McKenzie will get a few more Magarey votes thanks to his look a like long lost little brother?

We needed some more of these types to take the pressure off Powell and Treeby to do all the hard stuff in the middle. Special mention yesterday to Nathan Daniel as well. I thought it was his best game. Was playing on Campbell for a while and shut him down a little bit and managed to get the ball a bit himself as well. Has good hands in a tight situation - he does lack a lot of pace and is still raw at league level - but he did his job in the team admirably yesterday and deserves credit.
Assuming Treeby and Klun are ok next week - those two along with Rimington should be automatic inclusions. Possibly at the expense of Wright (injured), Daniel and Goldsworthy. The latter two would be unlucky - but will be better players with the taste they've had of league footy already. Hopefully Pete Fiacchi joins the likes of Schwarze and Cica in the resssies next week and they can add a bit of depth to our squad. The question still remains though, have we left our run too late?
PS. No way would our ressies beat Norwood's league. I read ccc's comments as in with the way our reserves went about their footy yesterday, they'd give our own league team a run for their money. More a compliment on the endeavour they showed and the calibre of some of the players playing...

OK so I admit being over the top about the two's![]()
Treeby was a training injury Friday night another one from Friday night training!!!!
I still think it will take the biggest miracle ever to get over Port .Yes we beat Glenelg and Norwood two teams above us and two teams having on field problems .Port well they are or were in winning form.
A better start to the game and then keeping it up for four quarters is what needed.

oi mickyj !!! what are these on field problems we have ?![]()
as i don't think we have any, as for norwod they are a middle of the road team & in my calculations i rate them the 6th best team in the competition so they are going better than their ratings imho

Zorzi to the centre and Cockshell to full back. Losing Davis in the 2nd didn't help I know but come on, Weatherald on a half back flank?![]()
Once again poor selections hurt us, Coombes instead of Aish the prime example.
For the sake of not looking stale, outdated and pigheaded would it hurt the Norwood "coaching panel" to actually try to make some moves?
Hopefully our next coach announced his retirement from the AFL last Thursday! And will bring just one decent, competent quality assistant coach, not 3 yes journeymen.
And hopefully the "coaching panel" will get rid of this stupid ethos that our current players will create their own history and get as many past Norwood players as possible to fill the rooms before the match this week! Wont happen because the Norwood Football Club of today just views itself as a breeding ground for AFL footballers and if a premiership comes along one day - bonus! More interested in making money than winning flags, time for a major clean-out of all the match day staff in my opinion. The place is stale. Volunteers I know and I believe they believe they are doing their best for Norwood, I wont argue that, just not working out. The head fitness guy is not a decent physical specimen and moves as fast as growing grass. I dont think too many at the Cows would have been said to see him go.
We are going backwards after being on the verge of regular finals participants at the end of 2005 IMHO.
Jobs for the boys never work out in the end.
Amazed that our season is still alive!
