We were lucky that they kicked very inaccurately to make the scoreboard look respectable for us. Very impressive they were. Firm favourites still with Earl, Saunders and probably Griffiths to come in they will only get stronger! Their midfield is sensational and seem to rotate well with each of them having a spell on the bench during each rotation.

As for top 4 I guess it will now be Mallala, Balak, Hummocks then us.

I dont think it was quite that convincing MC. The standard of the game was very low with some great patches of quality footy occasionally, but all in all a poor reflection of our leagues standard. The game seemed very stagnet. True, inaccuracey was a problem but I would hate to think that United could convince anyone on here that they arent really good enough to press for a flag this season with the quality of players on thier list. On Saturday United were missing PLENTY of quality, which is why Mallala really couldnt take anything out of the game on the weekend. Without Vandenburg, Broad, Graham, Opitz, Che Cockatoo-Collins (for a half), Sobey (missed match time with leg problem), Willy Searle and Mickey Brown (theres 8 that would start in most A Grade teams in this league) just to name a few I think the match was a poor indication of United's capabilities.
So your not gonna sneak under the radar MC, Balaklava however may well do just that. Whilst the pies must still be clear favourites I think the gap is not quite as far as most may seem. All makes for a stellar finals series. Lets not forget there is still some important matches to go before we get there though.

People involved in Mid Murray footy (and not involved with Robertstown) believe it very unlikely Robbie will be accepted in the APFL.
Apparently though, the netballers have got all excited about the change and have designed new uniforms.

What makes you say this Dog. APFL won't accept them in or Mid-Murray won't let them leave?

Certain people think that Robbie won't be up to the standard of APFL.

Would you be one of those certain people? So your saying that the clubs of the APFL won't allow them in because they might not be up to standard?

I'm not one of those people. I don't know enough about Robbie or Mid Murray footy to make that comment.
Those thoughts come from a couple of people I've spoken to about the issue.

Interesting call.
Could cause havoc in MMFA.

APFL voted last night to accept RT - now it has to go to SANFL for their Yay or Nay.

And the best news I have heard for a long long time out of the APFL - clubs VOTE OUT the U17s mercy rule for season 2009.

Finally some common sense - the 3 clubs that still think its a good idea really need to have a look at what this ridiculous rule is currently doing for junior development. The U17 coaches don't want it but still are having it pushed down their throats by ill informed committee and delegates.

At least it is now gone - hopefully for ever.

If the SANFL say yes - will that not mean MMFA is gone?

Do they fill an A and B grade? How many junoir teams do they have? What is the population of the town and district that supports the club?

I think if the SANFL says "yes" the MMFA, from the indications I got yesterday, was that the association would do what it could to stop Ramco going.

If the women want to come to the APFL (and most of the lads out that way are married) I'm sure their decision is just about made .......... Bobtown for APFL.

PS: Congrats on your campaigning re the Mercy Rule Jumbo. From your first post to your most recent the mercy rule reversal has been your "BABY". I spose you can sleep better at night now mate, and the mental development of 15-17 year old Adelaide Plains kids can go on un-tarnished!

You will remain a blogger on here won't you? There will be other issues I'm sure!

The APFL's acceptance confirmed.
Apparently the skill level of the club wasn't a worry as Robertstown offered assurances it would step up.

That's good to hear. I'm sure most people will be happy with that decision. If not, too ******* bad.

Can always kick them out again!

Adds a bit of interest to the league. My worry is that Robby players especially juniors may leave for clubs which travel less. Auburn was a part of HWE but everyone left for Min Man. I'm not sure but wouldn't the NEFL or Barossa involve less travel for Robby people than the APFL?
