different topic the quality of players coming through to senior ranks I think it is great that the under 17s comp is so even and competitve, you have to pat the coaches on the back there.
this comp being even is only going to develop both good and hard at it footballers. They have to play week in week out without knowing whether they will come top or a miss a place in the finals, when they go to senior ranks they will have an attacking style and a defensive style to their game and be a more accountable player.

This could be wrong, but I think that McLaren has produced plenty of good individuals, who dominate too much. They play a style of footy that is fantastic at junior level but too many others dont get involved and dont learn anything. For example they smashed us in the juniors on the weekend but realistcally there were only 4 major contributors (Macca, Proctor, Ballas and Cameron). This wins games in junior footy but the remaining 18 kids are not learning anything by watching 4 players win them the game by themselves. The players that dominate develop bad habits and the others aren't cut out for senior footy beacuse they have never had any responsibilty. Having said that there is no real system to compare to considering Willunga are so dominant and McLarens have won 1 A Grade premiership in their short GSFL lives, which is more than a lot of others.
Please feel free to unleash some abuse on me if you disagree beacuse to be honest this forum as becomming too friendly.
to me that sounds like a glory seeking junior coach whos coaching for wins and not teaching kids to be good footballers.4 top juniors each year for 5 years and thats 20 players between 18 and 23 in the seniors. a good junior program is one that produces a grade footballers. its not about how many junior premierships you win.
but where do they go? maybe they just get fat and lazy and start eating to many pies. speaking of getting fat and lazy and eating too many pies maybe if LF got off the computer and ran 8km every day between now april maybe he could be the answer to the saints search for a chf?

There are some outstanding coaches in the senior colts comp.
I was just thinking the same thing mate, of the coaches I know and the biggest one to stand out for me is Victors Grant Levy.
