The lack of faith that the Doggies have in their home-grown talent is appalling though, and the lack of respect they give to their Under 17s and 19s is to blame, so nobody wants to play there. Laird wouldn't care about Stengle, they'll just buy some more from interstate to fill their reserves next year anyway.
A little harsh pag?
Stengle left the club andthe club moved on. Can't start letting players dictate things or we might as well shift the club to Noarlunga.
Regarding your other point, I suggest you go through the list and see how many are locals and how many are recruits. You'll be very surprised.
Don't let your own beliefs cloud the reality...
Haha, mate you know my views will always cloud the reality. From my metro Smartplay Cup team only one bloke is still on the senior list at Centrals, and one got drafted. I know of at least 7 or 8 blokes in that Under 15 team, and we were a fair side, we won the competition, who should've been playing 17s and never got a game. There were Barossa lads who weren't as good but got picked due to a certain coach, and the club lost 8 or 9 very good footballers that year. The one still there, you can probably work out who, should've got a crack at league footy by now but is trying to compete with interstate blokes playing reserves.
That is from the metro side, the country side weren't as good but still have 4 players on the senior list.
I understand Stengle left on his own accord, and if Laird doesn't want him back then fair enough, but my interest is why he left in the first place. I know Kilburn threw good coin at him, but I have the feeling there's a bit more to it than money.
I thought Para Hills were always in control without the game reaching any great heights. I do think that you were out coached or is it just that the cupboard is a little bare at the moment. Hanson played on one leg and still kicked 5 up to half time before he was rested. I thought Salisbury were too slow around the ball and stopages.
Not sure if out coached was correct, don't think Beer made any moves that were necessarily match-winning. Hanson was spoon-fed by the midfield, got some excellent delivery from Jarvis, Page and the like. Was a liability in the second half when his man kept running off him.
Credit to Para Hills though, they outplayed us.
