There are obviously different degrees of broken jaws though. A Seaton player actually played in last years D2 grand final with a broken jaw, sustained only 2 weeks before. He didnt find out it was broken until a few days after the incident, it didnt require wiring or anything.

Are you saying Pulteney made the whole thing up, Ouzo ? If so, why did they target the Haven player in question ?

As hard as i try to think about it, it just cant be justified.
Barry hall king hit an opponent, 1) video evidence against him 2) staker knocked out cold on the spot 3) extremly bad record against his name.

And rowland 1) no video evidence let alone an umpire that seen it 2) opponent played on and no visual damage in the way of blood or dizziness 3) Rowlands has a clean record

yet both same penalty can some one talk me through this

I cannot speak for Pulteney but based on the facts of the case it should have been thrown out instantly. I am concerned for other players in the league including myself that supporters can make reports and verdicts like this can be handed down, despite having a perfect record. I am disgusted by the leagues behaviour. The letters were not even drawn up by a lawyer or in anyway a legal document. They wern't even signed by a JP. Legally they are nothing more than pieces of paper. It is my understanding that the league warned him that the penalty could have been far more severe but they were lenient on him. This is absurd, they are running a Kangaroo Court with no one to control them. The system is out of control.

You cannot compare AFL penalties to SAAFL penalties.

Felch, If this is allowed to continue and one of your players is next, I would love to hear your reaction then. In fact why don't Joompin and myself go watch one of your games then a month later write a couple of letters and have poor fisty rubbed out for eight matches. That sounds ridiculous but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

ps. I wouldn't do that to you fisty, your brother maybe.

and on that same game. you would have to say there is a rule of a teams runner man handling and threatening and opposing teams player and as i watched that game a no for a fact there were dozens of people that saw the incident, does that give me the write to send letters in and have the runner face the tribuneral

because malicious acts in the AFL are in the absolute minority, where as in the Amatuer League they are slighty more proficient and the penalties handed down need to teach not only the perpetrator a lesson but act as a deterrent for anyone who is that way inclined.

Yes piccachu and I saw that incident so thats two people, all we need to succeed now the precedent is set. They must overturn this decision or they have to penalise anyone that appears before the tribunal with the same amount of evidence as their must be consistency.

Ouzo, we had it happen to our players with the urinating incident. Im not saying its right, or wrong - i dont know enough about the incident.

I already said , i dont agree with putting in reports or investigations after the fact, but also, i havent been in the situation where we could have (except for the PAOC incident of a spectator running on the ground, which we left to rest).

Look at it from this view - Pulteney say Haven bloke hit their guy, backed up by 2 witnesses statements. Haven say he didnt hit him (im guessing he pleaded not guilty?). The Pulteney player has a broken jaw. Umpire didnt see anything. Going by that, 8 games seems harsh, i admit.
Not when you compare it to other SAAFL suspensions handed down though.

Did you blokes supply any witnesses ? As we found out a few weeks back, the investigation to actual tribunal hearing process can happen very quickly (immediately following !) and if you arent prepared, then it counts against you.

True that their can be no comparison with AFL and SAAFL. Their also can be no comparison to any sporting body to the SAAFL. They are out of control, as their is no mechanism of control either externally or internally. The people in charge are answerable to no one. This is a dangerous situation that would not exist in any other organisation, whether sporting or not. Clubs pay a lot of money to be in this league and they are not getting value for it.

Letters to the opposite opinion to ones provided by Pulteney were supplied. You have to ask yourself are two supporters watching the game valid witnesses and if so are they all you need to convict someone. If it was me I would be contesting it in anyway I could and if there was no avenue for appeal I would retire there and then.

As was already stated though, there is no avenue of appeal.

It would open a very large can of worms if there was.
