A3 - Hard to pick this one. Ingles, Ports & Reynella would have all pushed for finals spots in A2 this year. They are a class above the rest. Ingles have only dropped one game this season and deserve favouritism but their bowling line up is suspect. They will need to post a big score and if they bat their full quota they will nudge 400. Ports & Reynella are both coming off shock losses. Ports batting lineup has a lot more depth and that should get them over the line. Gabb is Reynella's key. Best batsman in the A3 comp and scores very quickly but if he goes cheaply I think Reynella will struggle.

The only reason there was so much shit from the Clubs was down to the mistakes being made. Delaying some grades as the program was not done in time.

Basically you show leadership and get things right and the job is as easy or hard as you make it and unfortunatly our departing GM made the job extremely difficult for himself through stuff ups and lack of knowledge with ATCA cricket.

Having worked closely with several sporting organisations, I have experienced first hand the opinions of clubs towards the governing body and I am yet to come across one in which has an even moderately positive reputation amongst its members. This is an extremely common theme - the SACA, ATCA, SAAFL, Bowls SA etc are constantly lambasted by clubs for every error they make while rarely, if ever, being complimented for the good work and long hours that they do put in. While I agree that many sporting organisations often make poor decisions and that some may have very slack employees and/or boards, when they do take the step to ask the opinion and assistance of its members to sort out issues, the repsonse is often non-existant.

Once again, I am not trying to defend the actions or performance of the current GM and ATCA Board, but perhaps we should all try not to be quite so critical unless we are willing to put up our hands hand to help out?

I know it's a long season and shouldn't come one moment by would of thought Walkies may of taken the long handle to gain some additional bonus points.

I'm sure if they knew they would have. Bet they never thought SPOC would beat Brighton particularly as Brighton was playing for a finals spot. Would have come as quite a shock to Walkerville i imagine.

Why leave it to chance, why wouldnt you swing anyway last round, cricket is the type of game where things like that happen. I wouldnt say Brighton are that godo a side that it is expected that they would beat SPOC, especialyl in a one day game. When things come dow nthat fine why leave it to chance. Give yourself the best shot regardless.

I understand that Walkerville have asked the ATCA to amend the result of the SPOC v Brighton match thus enabling Walkerville to avoid relegation, with SPOC instead being relegated - to be discussed at the next ATCA meeting on 12th? May.

On what basis are they asking for the result to be amended?

that the umpires on the day made a mistake - being a one day match the umpires calculated incorrectly the number of remaining overs after completion of 1st innings and gave SPOC 1 extra over in its 2nd innings (i think 12 overs in lieu of 11 overs) - the extra over of which SPOC scored 4 runs.

Sounds like sour grapes on Walkerville's part. Poor Form. Someone down there has obviously got too much time on their hands. Get over it and move on.

Very poor form indeed! especially so long after the event as well - the ATCA will look like fools if they overturn that result

Hopefully they have recruited a few bats with decent technique. And hopefully the blokes they recruit can show some decent sportsmanship.

Haha, still pissed at the size of the six on of the Kilburn boys hit me for. it was a good ball, the bat premeditiates a walk down the wicket and dispatches down the ground with the wind. i can tell you Nixon it was BIG, not quite up to Big Dan and Drews hits at Glenelg but up there.
