Just thought i would add my two bobs worth in on the Adam Silvy case.

Firstly what nobody has mentioned is Silvy was hit in a similar fashion at the centre bounce and was down for 3 to 4 minutes. He got back to his feet as the ball was returning to the centre after a Blackwood goal. Then at the next bounce he did retaliate in a similar fashion - obviously with quite an impact.
Also to the Bridgewater players saying that next time they play Blackwood we are going to payback Silvy - aren't you intending to do exactly what he did -RETALIATE .
Nobody likes to see nasty incidents that cause serious injuries but if intentionally hit and you still have the capacity to hit back, most people would.
In the street you would and i have read people saying that behind play is no different to in the street.
I wish the injured player a speedy recovery, but before we all hang out Adam Silvy to dry ( especially people who weren't at the game ) remember there is always two sides of the story when incidents like this occur.

Panther you are so far off the mark with this one that you are embarrassing which begs the question are you just pot stirring for a reaction. So I will give you your reaction to satisfy your feeble mind. If Silvy was hit in a similar fashion how come he is not in hospital with multiple fractures facing a year on the sidelines. If it was a similar hit how come he got back up with no injury. If it was a similar hit how come steve was not reported. Panther the video does not lie the prior hit was in play and body on body not a cheap shot to the face. 7 weeks what a joke the league cant be real serious about getting rid of this stuff. Bridgewater player spends a year out while the sniper sits out 7 games, doesnt stack up for mine. Panther hope this has cleared up your confused state of mind.

i didnt see the silvy incident but do believe that the suspension should at least match the length of the injury. how can the hills not even give half a season to someone who literally broke someones face.. pathetic! good luck to steve with the police report if he goes that way, dare say the police wont be as leanient..

Battams was originally given about 16 weeks last season if i remember correctly for allegedly hitting an umpire. Surely this incident deserves at least that. What a joke from the tribunal, did they just base it on the Barry Hall incident?? Surely he deserved more, doesn't matter if it was retaliation, the damage was still done.

reckon ill chuck my tips out for this weekend:

Lofty to beat birdwood comfortably 20+ goals lofty will be looking to prove they are still a top three side by smashing birdwood. will be a good game for some of the 1st yr seniors to gel into the side.

Hahndorf over onkas by 10 points probably match of the round are hahndorf the real deal this yr. This game should be a good indication. Hahndorfs midfield is too good probably the best in the hills at the moment, i dont think onkas will be able to go with them.

Ironbank will smash lobey by 30 goals not much to rlly say lobey wont win a game this year.

Blackwood will beat an improving barker by 8 goals, dont know too much about either of these two teams but blackwood have a huuge amount of players to select from
(Ben Badenoch playing B grade?) and for this reason im gonna tip the woods

Uraidla will smash Bridgewater by 25 goals, Uraidla havent lost much at all and only just sneak under the points system by the barest of margins, Bridgy lost one of their best players due to some thuggery, Uraidla will run all over bridgy

I said in court there is no difference between a hit in the street or a hit behind the play in football. They will both be treated similarly when reviewing evidence. The retaliation would be viewed the same in either case and I'd suggest that if you retaliate a few minutes later in the street when you are not in any danger you would be struggling to build a case.

This would be worth a min 20k thru to atleast 50k in damages, depending on medical costs, pain and suffering, loss of income and whether or not you settle out of court. Big bikkies really...

So Newman does this mean you can hit people as long as you aren't strong enough to hurt them?
The report was made by Bridgewater not the umpires i believe.
Maybe Blackwood should have made a report on the first contact.
If the initial hit wasn't made then we wouldn't be having this discussion!

Panther, I realise you are from Blackwood, that's the only reason on Earth you'd be defending this bloke, but you can't justify or condone the hit, especially the severity, on the Bridgy player because they happened to be involved in a fair body on body clash, which only winded Silvy, a few minutes earlier.

The umpires didn't report because the sniper got him off the ball, he ran past the ball to engage the hit.

I hope his bank balance is sufficient to cover his oncoming costs, I wonder if Blackwood will be in a position to back him (financially) when he's on his way to court.

Congratulations Banker good to see you rewarded for your hard work. :D
Army Tank will no doubt be quaking in his boots to keep his spot. :(

Good pressure on spots for all three senior grades which is good.

Also good to see Parters back in the A's where he belongs I think his style is what we need against the Nicholas and Bowen's of the world.

You continue to embarrass yourself Panther, so I wont even bother with you, if you condone this type of thuggery then you are no better than the prick who did it.

You need to learn to read Newman. He doesn't condone the second hit, but you obviously condone the first punch because it was lucky enough not to hurt someone.

So is it your turn to embarrass yourself is it shrek. The first contact was not a hit it was a body on body in play where the blackwood player got winded, if you think that act deserved a fractured face then maybe you and panther should shack up together get married and move to an island.

That's your story mate. Panther has never said the Bridgewater player should have been or deserved to be hit. He has simply given a full account of what happened. Maybe he saw something that you didn't? God forbid someone should disagree with you Newman. To be honest the fact that he can write a post without resorting to insulting anyone who disagrees with him makes him a hell of a lot more credible than you.
