The Panther wrote:Just thought i would add my two bobs worth in on the Adam Silvy case.
Firstly what nobody has mentioned is Silvy was hit in a similar fashion at the centre bounce and was down for 3 to 4 minutes. He got back to his feet as the ball was returning to the centre after a Blackwood goal. Then at the next bounce he did retaliate in a similar fashion - obviously with quite an impact.
Also to the Bridgewater players saying that next time they play Blackwood we are going to payback Silvy - aren't you intending to do exactly what he did -RETALIATE .
Nobody likes to see nasty incidents that cause serious injuries but if intentionally hit and you still have the capacity to hit back, most people would.
In the street you would and i have read people saying that behind play is no different to in the street.
I wish the injured player a speedy recovery, but before we all hang out Adam Silvy to dry ( especially people who weren't at the game ) remember there is always two sides of the story when incidents like this occur.

The Panther wrote:So Newman does this mean you can hit people as long as you aren't strong enough to hurt them?
The report was made by Bridgewater not the umpires i believe.
Maybe Blackwood should have made a report on the first contact.
If the initial hit wasn't made then we wouldn't be having this discussion!

You continue to embarrass yourself Panther, so I wont even bother with you, if you condone this type of thuggery then you are no better than the prick who did it.

You need to learn to read Newman. He doesn't condone the second hit, but you obviously condone the first punch because it was lucky enough not to hurt someone.

The Big Shrek wrote:That's your story mate. Panther has never said the Bridgewater player should have been or deserved to be hit. He has simply given a full account of what happened. Maybe he saw something that you didn't? God forbid someone should disagree with you Newman. To be honest the fact that he can write a post without resorting to insulting anyone who disagrees with him makes him a hell of a lot more credible than you.
