i think it is a mixture of alot of things. christies playing younger guys to see how they handle bigger bodies, playing guys out of position to see if anybody can stand up and maybe find a few options for the season, the old faithful, players missing and also playing a well drilled, well coached team that move the ball with percision and pace. Mt lofty are a team that just run in numbers.

As for the other grades it may have been a lack of numbers and depth. A lot of kids just stuggling with a quick tempo that mt lofty play.

I would think that christies will be alot better this week and will be more competitive and should be able to play finally a full strength squad this week and look to round 1 against norlunga.

As for the league i think it like comparing apple and oranges. Hills is a quick, play on running game where SFL seems to be more bang and crash pack style of footy. Before people get fired up its just a observation

Statham is an absolute gun Brighton will close the gap rapidly on the emus with players of this class. Will play key possie and has a huge leap and great grab, can even ruck.

On the lions there is no chance of them folding. Lost a few namely Loveridge (interstate) and have Baxter and Dean at south ressies at the moment. Reserves number definately a bit thin but have alot of 'part timers' that havent trained much or at all.

Watched the game on the weekend LF, the game on the weekend was disappointing for our guys. Especially when the 2's probably won by 20 goals. The saints looked pretty sharp, just ran cove off their legs, and their skills were much more polished than cove's which was the main difference. admittadly we were missing a few, and played a few young blokes, as the saints may have been as well. Only time will tell though. Good luck to goolwa this year, the b grade blokes seemed like a good bunch.

Valley Vs Cove this weekend. Either fri or sat night. But i think it's saturday. Hopefully our guys start to click and put up a good show against the vikings. I know HV's first game is under lights, but is it true that all of their trials have also been played at night? interesting

I don't think this has anything to do with arrogance. I was not only relating to this particular speech but also for the way Lonsdale held themselves over the entire day. I listened in on half time breaks and feel in some cases it works to try and out muscle your opponent, I just think they got shown thats not the way footy is especially in a 20/20 situation.

I watched several times as cheap shots that have come from well known Lonsdale players not only in one game but many. As it points out they did play some better footy throughout the day and well done. But with only managing one draw it shows that the way the game is meant to be played quick and skillful not thuggish could not help Lonsdales style of play at all and is why Aldinga and others were beneficial with not getting dragged into that crap. Everyones got an opinion and I to am very interested with the season games.

I guess some ppl on here will never lighten to the fact that Aldinga are adapting to the league even if it does take a long time to come, its all for the best.

in the lofty side they had one ex west adelaide player who i believed played reserves but he is actually played all his juniours at lofty. the hills now have the points system and with there best side on the park still have 50% of their allowed points.
