You can add the Brisbane Bullets as being in definite trouble as well.
NBL could be no more if several teams die off...
yes they are 2
that abc child care guy is owner and iwth what's happened to him lately may well see them go 2
THE Brisbane Bullets are up for sale after Eddy Groves today announced he was ending his ownership of the 2006-07 NBL champions.
And Brisbane's players have offered to take across-the-board pay cuts to keep the NBL foundation club from folding.
TIME is fast running out for the owner-less Brisbane Bullets with skipper Sam Mackinnon and other players set to fly the coop by the end of the week.
Like several players, Mackinnon is sweating on an answer about Brisbane's NBL future by week's end.
If there's no positive news he could be forced to accept offers from either current champions Melbourne or South Dragons.
Brisbane is believed to be in talks with a potential white knight but no details are known.
The players, including Mackinnon, have been loyal to the Bullets since owner Eddy Groves announced he was bailing out last month.
But Mackinnon, anxious to know more about the latest talks, said today time was running out fast.
"We've been told something may happen over the next day or two," the multi-Olympian said.
"They've kept everything confidential, even from the players, which doesn't help.
"I can't afford to sit around and wait for a potential buyer to come in, I'd be silly to do that.
"The reality is if you wait around a few months to see what happens you may not have a team.
