Thats not a bad idea Buzzman !
Something different, a handicap system would be required for the lower division teams of course.

Hmmm way off the mark there mate, finished 2nd or 3rd last year beat Luthern in prelim at their ground won the GF ok on neutral ground!BUZZ wrote:Pag wrote:NO-MERCY wrote:They wouldn't be far off the bottom Buzz.
They'd be fighting for the last spot in the 5 wouldn't they? They're around the mark with North Haven, Portland and Rosewater, and surely they'd do West Croydon and Wingfield easily...
Yeah they would maybe the last 2, the 1st 3 would take care of them easily i think, Fitzroy forget they have to play away games at times, their oval is litterally a dump but they play it well, but thats only 9 times a year, 9 wins rearely gets you a finals berth.

I acknowledge you've got a couple of long drives there and that your side has a fairly raw deal in terms of travel this year, but it seems to be a minority situation that could easily change next year, as has been pointed out.
Theories seem perfect until real life kicks in. I suppose that all proposed league structures would have drawbacks.

Seriously though, i don't think travelling 45-60 minutes to play a game of footy 9-10 times a year is that big of a deal???

You're suggesting that the likes of Port Districts should be put in the same division as North Haven, Portland, West Croydon and Rosewater for the sake of less travel..Hmmm...
Would be a great comp for the Western Suburbs FC
Henley
Districts
Seaton
Smosh
Portland
Haven
Rosewater
West Croydon
Wingfield
Fitzroy
This order listed will also resemble the end of year ladder aswel

do you own a business?, do you work on saturday mornings?, do you have kids who play saturday morning sport?,do you have a family?if you answered no to all of those then of course it isnt a BIG hassle..if you were playing in the b grade v gg and you live around kenilworth oval..you leave at 10.15am to be there by 11.30 so you are there 30-40 minutes before the start of the game..your game starts at 12.15 so you leave 2 hours before the game LMAO..this is not a country league..its SAAFL suburban football..sometimes i wonder

You get to play at 'new' venues, face different teams, supporters and opponets each year. The relegation system puts clubs in their place and adds a different challenge each year. Meaningless lower table clashes all of a sudden become exciting beacuse there is something to play for ie avoiding relegation. No system would be perfect! If you have a long road trip this year get the lads together, make the trip and smash the opposition on their home deck. You'll love the drive home!
