The league may fold if Karoonda pull out? Surely it is too late to stop the whole league, at least this year. I guess if that happened clubs would have to split and try to join other leagues, e.g. RFL, RMFL etc.

your so called reliable source is full of shit frithy is one of the best young footballers going round in the saafl vanders is as hard of a ball winner than anyone going round in the saafl with good skills to match and micky wilson can play anywhere big or small very handy player so if your " reliable source " (pffft) says central united asked them to leave i would ask him to take his hand off it . and anyway from what i hear central united are not in any position to ask anyone to leave .

but with some of the other pick ups peake have i wouldnt worry bout these boys anyway theres others to worry about by no means am i saying peake are fav's or anything like that just say'n will be at least a 8 to 10 goal better side than last year .

That's true, having a 5 team comp is better than no comp at all, but from what some of the Murrayville locals are saying, it's only a matter of time where Murrayville have to look at merging or folding simply because of the lack of kids being born in the district. It might not be for another 10 years or so but it's heading down that path.

Even now, Murrayville rely on locals that are living in Adelaide coming home to play and bringing mates from uni/work back for a game to keep the numbers up.

Well it sounds like you lads better do some work on thursday being valentines day, and get that population cracking!

seriously tho, footy is fast becoming one of those things people dont have time for anymore. People work Saturdays more now among other things. Perhaps the AFL has to crack the whip and generate some interest in this great game of ours! If not it could there could be an epidemic of country clubs closing the doors!

I don't think that the league would stop the season if one club folds.

Aren't they from division 6? Peake will need to improve by atleast 12-15 goals to be a force this season. Other mallee league clubs have been recruiting solidly also and will improve some what as well...

Interesting to see how Vanders goes. TRavelling requires some discipline.

Carey18 what has brought about the fundamental change in the way the Peake football club go about their business??? Did one of the locals win the lotto or something?

What I am angling at is for 10 years it’s pretty safe to say that Peake spent the best part of $0 on getting some new player or even a coach, and now in the last 2 years they have had more new players than Bandits caught by Skippy.

What made them change?

I think what Flying Ant was trying to say was that it'd be a bit easier to dominate div 6 footy as a player than div 1 or 2, therefore we'll have to wait and see how quality div 6 players match up in the mallee league.

The only game I've played against a SAAFL club was a trial for my previous club (in the GSFL) against a div 5 SAAFL club. We we up by 20 goals at 3/4 time so they pulled the pin and went home!!

Im away with Jason Linder this weekend so ill ask him what the change is. Last year i was told that in the past they didnt really spend much on players ( except Dutchy and Boo) they would rather spend it on facilites
