Well the SA U19s won the national championship

That aspect of the grade cricket restructure working? I was sceptical at the time but it's obviously helped them gel as a team and prepare for the carnival. I know the goal ultimately is to produce State and Australian cricketers and this is only a stepping stone, but impressive nonetheless

Eventful day at Price Memorial Oval. 22 wickets.

TTG all out 110. Sturt were 3/75 chasing but collapsed and fell one run short.

Important result for TTG. Were sitting bottom on zero points. Maybe an outright opportunity tomorrow

bitta spice......in the deck for 22 poles to fall in one day.....should be good on Sunday to bat.....Gullies with good 1st innings points

Watched Kensington smash 430 odd......they looked good....hunt with 95

Adelaide.....belting W/Torrens......Eagles struggling....and won't win this

East torrens and port interesting.....East Torrens with 250 on the board.....start favourites.....but the port batting order can do anything

good win by sturt at price memorial. Gullies get first innings points.....sturt get the outright.....good atmosphere at the ground

Kensi.....hot flag favourites.....watched them yesterday make 430......Woodville not in the same class

my 2 favourite club grounds to watch games....on the same weekend......parkinson and price

southern districts and port's ground......least favourite

Important win for East Torrens vs Port. Magpies will disappointed not to chase 255 with no Campbell Thompson playing. East Torrens climb into the top four.

West Torrens hang on for a draw thanks to Bailey Capel 138*

Prospect's first win of the season! Probably got the U19s at a good time

Glenelg destroyed Southerns outright.

Jets important win over Uni. Open up a bit of a break on them. Their two young spinners took 4 wickets each

Player movement deadline December 31... anyone likely to be on the move?

Go look at Thomas browns wicket from the weekend vs northerns, thoughts on if that’s carried?

Should a team who has lost all 4 games be sitting above a team who has lost 1 game and drawn 3?

Granted, the team that has lost all 4 games won on first innings (by one run) in one of those games.

It still doesn't seem right though...

Two pretty close Twenty20 semi finals yesterday

West Torrens beat TTG by 8 runs. Eagles made 190. Kelvin Smith 99. TTG were a chance chasing while Kane Halfpenny and Joe Gatting were going but lost too many wickets.

Second game was low scoring. East Torrens only posted 132. Most of the big guns missed out with the bat for both teams except Alex Ross who made 70* and got Kensington home. Grand final is at Adelaide Oval next Sunday.

On Saturday WT recovered from 6/89 to post 202 vs Woodville. Peckers 2/53 at stumps.

East Torrens sent in by Gullies and made 310.

Sturt are 6/283 vs Adelaide. Might bat on to 300...?

Kensington 8/234 vs Port. Pretty slow day. Valente 31 overs 5/50. Browns will have to keep batting I guess.

Uni 9/289 vs U19s

Prospect 181 all out, Southerns 4/114. Would be big if the Stingrays could get home. I see that their 2nd Grade beat Sturt already. Nothing like a few wins to kick off the new year

Debacle for Northerns at the Bay. Sent Glenelg into bat and they made 5/400. Jets 2/19 at stumps.

Another gripe, of a similar nature.

Kensington and Sturt gifting Port and Adelaide points in farcical outright results today. You can call it smart captaincy, manipulating the system, but there must be something on the line or we just see reckless run chases and manipulated results.

If the team that wins first innings loses outright, they should surrender 10 points to the opposition, so each team walks away with 10.

Agree entirely.......Kensi declared at 0/0 today....thats shit.....but it's been going on for ages

Years ago....there was a rule where you lost points......when losing on second dig after winning on first.......captains thout twice about ridiculous declarations.....and gifting outright points

I watch most home games at parkinson.....and price.....so support both Kensi and Sturt.....was filthy when I heard.....Kensi gave the Swampies points they didnt deserve

Sturt were 1 wicket and Kensi 3 from claiming full points, hardly gifted their opposition points.

If you lost points for losing second innings then these games would be over well before tea on the second day, hands would be shook and people would then complain about games not being played for longer.

Surely playing meaningful cricket to get every point you can each game til late on the second day is the better option.

Plenty of first class and BBL names listed on the team sheets for the T20 grand final this afternoon

West Torrens - Buckingham, Drew, H Manenti, Nielsen, Fraser-McGurk, Harvey
Kensington - Lehmann, Pope, Hunt, Agar, Sangha, Matthias, Thornton, Ross

Pretty good effort by the Jets to bat the day vs Glenelg. Chasing 400 so a win was never on the cards. Finished 7/261

Outright win for Uni over the 19s. Once the national carnival is done and dusted it must be a bit of a let down for the 19s top age players. They aren't in the frame for next season. Yeah, they could push their case for a Redbacks rookie deal I guess but they could do that at their club anyway. Treading water for half a season basically.

Another win for Southerns. Three out of five in the 2 day competition.

Sturt and Kensi only took 6 and 5 1st innings points respectively, as well as declaring their 1st innings totals closed at 0/0. Manipulated, contrived, gifted, whatever words you want to use. If you're 5/86 and 6/30 you don't deserve to be given a second chance to get back in the game.

I'd rather see the lower order need to dig in to salvage a draw, as Notherns did yesterday, or Kensington and Sturt bowl the teams out and if good enough, bowl them out again, whether that is by declaring to provide incentive or enforcing a follow on.

Would need a rule tweak because as it stands those teams would have never batted out the day, therefore a Hail Mary was their only chance at points

We've had the rule previously where the winning team loses some of their 1st innings points if they go on to lose outright but it doesn't work. No risks are taken. Becomes an early finish game instantly

The current system gives teams who are getting belted a "do over" perhaps undeservedly.

So what's the solution? Should a drawn game be worth more than the extra points earned by winning outright?

Kensington made 3/171 batting first.

West Torrens got rid of Sangha and Hunt in the 2nd over and had the brakes on early but unbeaten 70s from Lehmann and Ross got the innings moving

Finished up about par I guess? Reckon WT would have taken 171 if offered it before the innings though Kensington would have gladly taken 171 after the two early wickets.

You'd think West Torrens have the batting fire-power to chase this down. They won't finish 3/150 so Kensington will need to take wickets
